NEW MAYOR AND DEPUTY MAYOR ELECTED

Bland Shire Council has elected a new Mayor and Deputy Mayor at tonight’s Council Meeting.

Congratulations to Councillor Lisa Minogue, who was elected Mayor and Councillor Malcolm Carnegie, who was elected Deputy Mayor.

Councillor Minogue takes over as Mayor from Cr Brian Monaghan, who did not seek re-election following eight years serving as Mayor of Bland Shire.

Council acknowledges and thanks Cr Monaghan for his years of service as Mayor and his contribution to the Bland Shire community.

Cr Carnegie takes over as Deputy Mayor from Cr Lisa Minogue, who served in the role for the past two years.

🏛️ HERITAGE GRANT APPLICATIONS CLOSE THIS SUNDAY!

There’s still time to apply for Round Two of the Bland Heritage Assistance Grant.

If you have a heritage restoration or conservation project in mind, get your application in before the deadline.

💰 Up to $7,000 is available for eligible projects, with funding matched dollar-for-dollar by the applicant.

🚗 Parking Responsibly in Our Community
Bland Shire Council has recently received a number of complaints regarding vehicles being parked illegally in rear lanes, on nature strips and across footpaths.
These areas must remain clear to ensure safe access for pedestrians, residents and emergency services.
Council takes these concerns seriously and as a result, our Ranger will be undertaking increased patrols and enforcement. Where required, infringement notices may be issued to vehicles found to be parked unlawfully.
We encourage all motorists to familiarise themselves with parking rules and make sure they are parking safely and legally.
By doing the right thing, we can help keep our streets, footpaths and public spaces safe and accessible for everyone.
✅ Don't block footpaths
✅ Don't park on nature strips or verges
✅ Keep rear lanes clear for access
✅ Check signage and parking restrictions before leaving your vehicle
✅ Don’t park in loading zones
