🏊‍♂️ Quirindi Swimming Club Long Course Carnival – This Sunday!

Quirindi Aquatic Centre will be hosting the Quirindi Swimming Club Long Course Carnival this Sunday, 8 February 2026. We are excited to welcome competitors from across the region who will be travelling to Quirindi to compete. We wish all swimmers the very best of luck on the day! 🍀

Please note that Quirindi Aquatic Centre will be closed to the public for general swimming during the event. The carnival is scheduled to finish at 4:30pm, with the centre reopening to the public from 5:00pm.

Thank you for your understanding and support while Quirindi Swimming Club host this fantastic regional event.

In-service training is underway for our Liverpool Plains Shire lifeguards! 🏊‍♂️💪

The team is sharpening their skills with CPR refreshers, deep water retrievals, reaction timing drills, and spinal management training — all to ensure they’re ready to keep our community safe.

Ongoing training like this helps our lifeguards stay confident, capable, and prepared for any situation. Great work, team! 👏

Liverpool Plains Shire Council is excited to open Expressions of Interest for our Term 1 Learn to Swim Program!

With limited spots available, this is a fantastic opportunity for children to build confidence, develop essential water safety skills, and have fun in a safe and supportive environment.

• Werris Creek Memorial Swimming Pool

📣 PUBLIC NOTICE // Free entry at public swimming pools this weekend 🏊

Due to high predicted temperatures this weekend, we will be providing free admission at both the Quirindi Aquatic Centre and Werris Creek Memorial Pool this Saturday, 10 and Sunday, 11 January.

If you do join us at either pool, please remember to follow the five SunSmart steps and slip, slop, slap, seek and slide.

With hot conditions expected over the remainder of January and into February, please take care of yourself and those around you:
💧 Stock your fridge and freezer with water bottles and ice trays
🧊 Freeze a couple of damp washers to use on your neck or wrists
🌬️ Use fans and keep blinds or curtains closed during the day
🕘 Do any essential outdoor tasks early and avoid unnecessary activity in the heat.

Please check on elderly neighbours, young children and anyone who may be vulnerable, and remember to keep pets cool and hydrated.
