From Auckland to Werribee: Meet First Constable Jordan 👮♂️
After two years policing in Counties Manukau East - working across family violence incidents, road policing and frontline policing - Jordan decided it was time for a new challenge.
Following a visit to Melbourne for a family event, he decided that the challenge was to cross the Tasman Sea and move to Victoria.
“I loved the culture, the food, the people and the vibes. I wanted to experience something new and get out of my comfort zone,” Jordan said.
He notes the Academy experience as a highlight so far, especially the friendships and instructors who made learning engaging and relatable.
His biggest challenges?
“Being away from family and friends, the cold weather, understanding Australian accents and no good meat pies!” (Clearly, he hasn’t tried a Four'N Twenty pie at the footy – just sayin’.)
Now settling into policing in Victoria, Jordan is keen to continue developing his skills on the road, with future goals of working in the Proactive Policing Unit or the Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT).
Off shift, you’ll find him outdoors, attending community events, watching or playing rugby, or enjoying a nice bourbon with mates.
Welcome to Victoria Police, Jordan 👏
