Now the dust has settled.
I’m picking myself up off the ground after being in a state of exhaustion after running my campaign and state of depression waking up to another four years of the Labor regime.
Firstly, I want to say thank you to all my volunteers and supporters who worked tirelessly to give me the best shot at making a difference.
I thoroughly enjoyed standing out each day with the other candidates and other volunteers for the other Parties. Everyone gave it their all, and my congratulations go out to everyone.
Tim Pallas, you still owe me an apology for the way you tried to sn**ch my camera, in doing assaulting me and then trying to make me out to be the bad guy telling the media you had called the police on me.
You ought to be ashamed of yourself.
Was it a fair election?
I agree with Aidan McLindon that the election should have been called off once the Glen Druery scam came to light, as this is way too big to ignore, and it can’t be said that it doesn’t effect the democratic process. However, the Labor Government has never been big on being democratic nor worrying too much about corruption. The show must go on.
After spending all day at the early voting centres for the two weeks, I have to say that if I had to guess, I would have placed about 8 or 9 in 20 people coming to vote for labor.
I could tell the voters who were part of unions being told they have to vote for Labor. They usually had a sour expression, and it was like the whole process was painful to their core.
So the first preferences at around 45% to Labor in Werribee seems about right. In no way is this an endorsement on Labor. They only got the win via preferences.
I used to have such a little understanding of the political process. Now I know more. I have seen first hand how the system is set up in favour of the incumbent Government.
I think it is dangerous to democracy, the way the mainstream media were calling winners so early, when so little had been counted. When momentum of ideas goes out, it is hard to backtrack if things were miss counted, or changes exist from the way people voted during the long pre-poll and postal vs election day.
Anyway, this is my take. Just my opinion. I still always fight for freedom, for democracy and truth. Love you all!
