🔥🔥Restricted Burning Period🔥🔥
As of today, 1st April 2026, the City of Kwinana entered the restricted burning period. Here are a few things you should know before lighting up.
⚠️Burning is a no go if the rating is HIGH or above, in our fire weather district "Swan Coastal South".
⚠️Ensure you have the means to control not just the fire you plan to have, but the fire you might end up with.
⚠️Remain in attendance at your burn until extinguished.
🚫 Burning is not allowed on properties in the urban and industrial areas.
If you are burning a single pile of garden refuse, you may burn it under the following conditions:
👉 The fire danger must be Moderate or below;
👉 The pile can be no bigger than 1 cubic metre;
👉 No flammable matter is to be within 5m of the fire;
👉 The fire is lit between 6pm and 11pm and is completely extinguished before midnight on the same day;
👉 At least one able bodied person is present at the site of the fire at all times until it is completely extinguished; and
👉 When the fire is no longer required,the person ensures that the fire is completely extinguished.
👉 Register your burn with the DFES Communications Centre on (08) 9395 9209 to avoid a visit from us.
🚫 If you cannot meet all of the conditions above, you will need a FREE permit from a Fire Control Officer (FCO). Call (08) 9439 0400 to contact a FCO.
🔥🔥If you lose control of your burn or see an un-attended fire call 000 immediately.🔥🔥
