As we head into the long weekend, we want to ensure we are all prepared. The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has issued a heatwave warning for parts of South Australia, continuing through to Monday, 26 January.

The CFS has identified tomorrow, Saturday 24 January, as a day of the highest fire danger rating. The Yorke Peninsula and Eastern Eyre Peninsula has been classified with a Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating.

What this means for you: We have our crews on standby and ready to respond. However, during days of severe fire danger, we adjust our network protection settings to be more sensitive. This is a necessary safety precaution to minimize the risk of fire starts, but it means that if a fault occurs, power may remain off for longer until our crews can safely inspect the line.

How to prepare:
• 🔋 Keep mobile devices fully charged.
• 🔦 Have a backup plan in place should the power go out.
• 🚫 Be extra vigilant and avoid activities that could spark a fire.

Stay cool and stay safe, SA.
