It's been a busy weekend for the Warrnambool SES Unit, with volunteers responding to a range of requests for assistance. From supporting other emergency services and undertaking temporary roof repairs to rescuing a furry friend after an unfortunate misadventure, our members have been hard at work serving the community.

A big thank you to our volunteers for their time, dedication, and willingness to help whenever needed.

With severe weather forecast for parts of the week ahead, now is a good time to prepare your property by securing loose outdoor items, cleaning gutters and drains, and moving vehicles away from trees where possible.

For assistance with storm or flood damage, call 132 500. In an emergency, always call 000.

Animal Rescue

At 11:19 am Warrnambool volunteers were called to help rescue a dog in Allansford that had found himself in a ruff situation, crews and the owners spent 2 hours searching rabbit burrows fearing he had become stuck in one before finally locating him under a pile of old telephone poles after he dug his way in and became trapped.

Crews made use of our spreaders to lift the pole and gain access so our furry friend could be freed and reunited with his relieved owners, a pawsitive outcome.
