West Gippsland hockey 🏑

Runners Up!
The Intermediate Girls and Boys' Hockey teams put in their best efforts to finish Runners Up this year. Both teams showed massive improvement in their teamwork and skill development from last year.

The boys' tenacity at defending was outstanding, and they worked hard to keep Chairo scoreless at half time. In the second half, we had several scoring opportunities that just missed. Chairo had a break away and scored half way through the second half. Trying not to be defeated, the team stepped up to try to score but unfortunately were unable to. Chairo slotted in another three goals for a 4-0 loss. Considering Chairo was a much stronger team, the WRC boys need to be proud of their achievement at how they played.

The girls played valiantly but could not overcome a stronger Drouin SC side who had many more hockey players than WRC. Teamwork was fantastic and the strength in skill was visibly far more advanced than the team showed last year. At no time did they give up and showed WRC was not going to be a push over!

Well done to all players - maybe in 2027 we'll win!

What an incredible night for our Mamma Mia! cast and crew!

We were incredibly lucky to attend Björn Again at the West Gippsland Arts Centre and experience the world's number one ABBA tribute show live on stage.

The highlight of the evening was seeing 10 of our students invited on stage to perform in front of a sold-out audience! It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that left our students inspired, excited, and even more motivated for our own production of Mamma Mia!

A huge thank you to the West Gippsland Arts Centre for helping organise such a special opportunity for our students, and to the team at Björn Again for being so welcoming, encouraging, and supportive of both our students and our upcoming production.

Mamma Mia! hits the stage this August at the West Gippsland Arts Centre. Tickets will be on sale soon - we can't wait to share our show with the community!

Curious today - confident tomorrow ✏️

Starting high school is a big change, but we are here to make it that little bit easier.

Our Grade 6 Transition Day allows students to experience what a day in the life at WRC is like, meet some of their teachers, get familiar with our campus and meet their future classmates.

It's a great way to build confidence, ease any nerves, and get a feel for what secondary school life is all about.
