Cranky Rock Reopens

Damage from the storm on 10 January has been rectified and Crank Rock will reopen to the public as of Wednesday 12 February 2025.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation whilst this action was taken to ensure the safety of all visitors.

Gwydir Shire Council wishes to advise that the Cranky Rock Reserve footbridge and lookout pathway will be closed from today for approximately three weeks so that repair works can be undertaken.
The camping, playground areas and amenities will remain open.

GWYDIR SHIRE CAMPING & CARAVAN PARKS - COVID-19 UPDATE

CAMPING IN THE GWYDIR SHIRE TO RESUME FROM 1 JUNE!!

The NSW Government has just advised that as of 1 June 2020 all Council managed campsites and caravan parks are permitted to reopen. This includes all official campsites on the Gwydir River, the Bingara Caravan Park, the Warialda Caravan Park and the Cranky Rock Recreation Reserve.

We would like to welcome visitors back to our beautiful Shire.

GWYDIR SHIRE COUNCIL - COVID-19 - CLOSURE UPDATE Thursday 23rd March 2020

The NSW Government have today issued a notice that local government caravan parks must close.

Bingara Caravan Park, Warialda Caravan Park and Cranky Rock Recreation Reserve will close to travelers today. Furthermore, The Bingara and Warialda Caravan Parks’ shower and laundry facilities will no longer be available to the public.

Those already staying at the Parks and Reserve are welcome to stay on as long as they wish.

This notice will not affect the Bingara Caravan Park permanent residents and their visitors.

Tourists and visitors are an important part of our local economy, and we hope to welcome you all back very soon.
