Essential Agricultural Permits to Burn are now being considered for the areas covering Mansfield Shire Council, Benalla Rural City Council and Rural City of Wangaratta. Apply through Fire Permits Victoria. The declared Fire Danger Period (FDP) remains in place. Burning off without a permit during the FDP is an offence.

Autumn Seasonal Bushfire Outlook
The Outlook identifies areas of increased risk of bushfire, in
comparison to areas of usual risk of bushfire.
Summary for Victoria
▪ Long-term drought, as well as a dry and warm summer and
autumn will reinforce severe dryness across Victoria.
▪ Increased bushfire risk is forecast across all of Victoria except for
East Gippsland and the Mallee in autumn.
▪ Fire authorities will continue to monitor conditions for any
changes in fire risk.
