It’s been a busy start to the month for our Wangaratta SES volunteers! 🧡

From responding to storm jobs across the community to sharpening our skills at weekly training, our members have been hard at work. This week’s focus on map reading and navigation is all about staying prepared and ensuring we can respond quickly and safely when it matters most.

A big thank you to our dedicated volunteers who continue to show up, learn, and support our community—rain, hail or shine. 👏

Stay safe and remember: if storms are forecast, take the time to prepare your home and plan ahead.

🚨 Training together to serve our community

Wangaratta SES volunteers recently teamed up with FRV for road crash rescue training, building skills, sharing knowledge, and strengthening our response together.

Working side by side helps us learn from each other and ensures we’re ready when our community needs us most. 💪🚗

It’s been a busy Easter 🐣 weekend for our amazing volunteers at Wangaratta SES, supporting our community across a range of incidents—from assisting at a motor vehicle accident and working alongside police and SES Yarrawonga Unit at the river, to clearing fallen trees and helping with the Good Friday Appeal.

As many people travel over the Easter break, we’re reminding everyone to take extra care on the roads. Slow down, stay alert, take regular breaks, and never drive tired.

Our volunteers are always ready to help—but we’d much rather see everyone arrive safely at their destination. 🚗🧡

🚨 Back at weekly training 🚨
While the call-outs don’t stop, neither does our commitment to being ready. This week our Wangaratta SES volunteers were back at training, sharpening skills, practicing techniques and working as a team — all while still responding when our community needs us.

Training nights are about staying prepared, staying safe and making sure we’re ready for whatever comes next. 🌧️🌬️
A huge thank you to our volunteers who continue to juggle work, family, training and emergency response to keep Wangaratta safe. 🧡

📞 Remember, for storm or flood damage call 132 500.
