Happy 30th Birthday Rotary Club of Wallsend-Maryland .... this day 30years ago, the club was chartered with the aim of serving and supporting the community and today, that aim is still honoured.

The Islington Markets made a triumphant return over the weekend under new management.

The long-running event was facing an uncertain future just weeks ago after its previous owners pulled out, deeming the operation no longer viable.

Rebranded as the Wickham Park Markets, the new operator reported a successful turnout, welcoming dozens of local stallholders back to the parklands.
