Please be advised that there is a planned stubble burn that is intended to be ignited around the Northern Highway area to the south of Wallan this afternoon. If ignited, smoke from this stubble burn will be visible from large areas around Wallan - Please note, this burn may also be cancelled at late notice.

Please be advised that there is a stubble burn that is being conducted around the Taylors Lane / Rowes Lane area. This burn will produce smoke which can be visible from around Wallan.

With the changed traffic conditions on High St and Watson St, it’s timely to remind everyone that we require unobstructed access to the fire station at all times.

This means no stopping or parking across our driveway or the area in front of our truck bays.

The station car park is also strictly for Wallan CFA members only.

A massive thanks to the community for your support and donations to this years 95th Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

Together we raised a total of $8,417.25.

We know this year has brought ongoing cost-of-living pressures and uncertainty for many households, and times may feel especially challenging right now. We are grateful for any support you were able to give. Every dollar donated today helps provide life-saving care for sick kids. Your kindness helps ensure children across Victoria can access life-saving treatment, equipment and support close to home.

Well it’s that time of year again!

Time to dig deep and support the kids.

Wallan Fire Brigade members will be out shortly rattling tins for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

You can find us at the intersection of High St & Queen St, 7 Eleven and the Hume Fwy BP Northbound, or you can drop in to the fire station to make a donation.

Give that they may grow.

The Fire Danger Period will end for the Mitchell Shire Council area at 1am on the 30th of March 2026.

Please refer to the Michell Shire Council website for further information regarding when you can burn off.

If burning off, please consider the weather conditions and whether it’s suitable to be burning off.
