More reasons to head into the C*D after 5pm are on the way!

Street x Street Wagga will launch in Fitzmaurice Street and surrounds from 1-7 November 2026, creating new opportunities for businesses to attract customers, trial fresh ideas and be part of a vibrant evening economy.

Whether it's extended trading hours, a special offer, live entertainment, a workshop, or a collaboration with neighbouring businesses, there's plenty of flexibility to get involved. Participation is free, with businesses receiving promotional support, marketing assets and inclusion in the official program.

Committee 4 Wagga is excited to see local businesses help shape this new city initiative and create even more reasons for residents and visitors to enjoy our C*D.

Committee 4 Wagga was proudly represented in NSW State Parliament as the motion to duplicate the Gobbagombalin Bridge was debated.

At the same time, passionate supporters gathered at the Transgrid Discovery Hub to watch the debate livestreamed on the big screen, demonstrating the strong community backing behind this important project.

Committee 4 Wagga co-chair Richard Pottie and board members Justeen Kirk and Glenn Venables travelled to Sydney to support Member for Wagga Dr Joe McGirr as he championed the case for a second crossing of the Murrumbidgee River.

Together with the Wagga Wagga Business Chamber and Dr McGirr, Committee 4 Wagga has been a proud supporter of the Bridge to the Future campaign, which secured more than 10,000 signatures calling for the duplication of the Gobbagombalin Bridge.

Committee 4 Wagga Chief Executive Officer Scott Sanbrook said the debate marked a significant milestone in the campaign.

"After a lot of small steps along the way, this has been one big stride on our journey to a bridge duplication."

Committee 4 Wagga will continue to advocate for another bridge, citing safety concerns and increased traffic delays as the northern suburbs continue to grow.

Committee 4 Wagga is proud to be part of the Bridge to the Future Campaign. We offer sincere thanks to Member for Wagga Dr Joe McGirr MP and Sally Manning from the Wagga Wagga Business Chamber for their efforts.

We also extend a big thank you to the Wagga community for their amazing support with the petition to duplicate the Gobbagombalin Bridge.

It was a great pleasure to welcome Richard Pottie, Justeen Kirk, and Glenn Venables from Committee for Wagga and Sally Manning from the Wagga Business Chamber to parliament today for a debate on our petition to duplicate the Gobba Bridge.

I’m pictured here with the team from Wagga plus the Member for Cootamundra, Steph Cooke, and the Minister for Roads and Regional Transport, Jenny Aitchison, who both made significant contributions to the debate.

There’s still a long way to go, but today’s debate was an important foundation in the duplication push and I’m hopeful of significant progress in the months ahead.

Thanks to my fellow parliamentarians, today’s visitors and all those who gathered in Wagga today to watch the livestream of the debate.

And special thanks to the 10,000-plus people who signed our Bridge to the Future petition.

I think your voices were heard loud and clear in parliament today and I look forward to continuing our work together to progress this crucial project.
