YEAR 12 OUTDOOR ED CAMP | Flinders Ranges Bushwalk

Last week, our two Year 12 Outdoor Education classes set off on a 3 night bushwalking journey through spectacular Mt Remarkable in the Flinders Ranges.

Students demonstrated the skills they have developed throughout the course, including:
⛺️Proficiency in bushwalking skills
🪱Risk and safety management
🏕️Self-reliance and initiative
🕷️Leadership and teamwork
🌳Sustainable use and appreciation of natural environments
The camp provided an invaluable opportunity for students to apply their learning, building resilience, confidence, and strong connections with their peers.

A special thank you to lead teachers Mr Foot and Mr Puckridge for another memorable camp experience. We also extend our appreciation to recent graduates Jemma and Poppy, who also attended the camp. Their time and assistance certainly contributed to a successful experience for all.

DAY 6 | Departure Day. An early 8:00am departure with the group arriving safely home later that evening.

A huge thank you VHHS staff who made the camp possible: Mr Hartley, Miss Arnold-Oakes and Mr Pettitt!

They then explored the Museum of Screen Culture ACMI at Fed Square, finishing the day at the iconic Queen Victoria Markets for dinner.

DAY 4 | Provided students with a valuable insight into future pathways in sport and exercise science, with a visit to Deakin University. Students attended an informative presentation, toured the campus and explored the university accommodation. The day concluded with an AFL match at Marvel Stadium, St Kilda v Hawthorn.

YEAR 11 SPECIALIST SPORT AFL | Melbourne Enrichment Camp

Our Year 11 Specialist Sport AFL students have had a busy start to their Melbourne enrichment camp.

DAY 1 | Started bright and early with a 6am departure from school by bus, arriving at Melbourne Space Hotel around 4pm. After settling in, students headed out food shopping and explored the city surroundings.

DAY 2 | Students observed a training session at Collingwood Football Club, followed by a meet and greet with some of their favourite Collingwood athletes.
In the afternoon they attended an informative tour of AFL House. A fantastic opportunity for students to experience elite sporting environments.
Dumplings in Chinatown were a hit with students for dinner on Day 2!
