🚗 PARKING NOTICE: We’ve recently had new parking signs installed around our sheds to help ensure we can respond quickly and safely to emergencies.

🚸 We’ve noticed that during school drop-off and pick-up times, some vehicles have been parking in this area. While we completely understand how busy these times can be, parking around our sheds could potentially block or delay our access during a call-out.

Please help us keep the area clear at all times so our crew can get on the road without delay when responding to incidents. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding! 🧡

If you are visiting our area this weekend, please plan your trip carefully.

⚡Regularly check the weather and Live Traffic NSW for road closures.
⛺ Avoid camping near creeks and waterways or under trees
🚗 Be prepared as you might need to adjust your plans. You don’t want to be stuck on the side of the road with a car full of kids!
🍎🍇Pack some water and snacks in case of delays and remember, if it’s flooded, forget it.

The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast the possibility of thunderstorms across Northern Rivers, Coffs and Clarence government areas starting tomorrow and continuing over the weekend.

Thunderstorm activity is forecast to bring localised heavy rainfall to some areas leading to flash flooding and residents are asked to be prepared. Please remember exact location of storms is hard to predict this far out.

Download the Hazards Near Me app or NSW SES website to stay across warnings as they are issued or updated.

NSW SES is getting ready to respond to any storm impacts and asks the community to:
⚡ Tie down loose items outside their homes
🏠 Clear their gutters and trim any overhanging branches
🚗 Move their car undercover or away from trees and powerlines
💧 If you come across a flooded road, turn around and find an alternative route. Steer clear of floodwater.

Stay safe and prepared:
🔸 Move or park your car under cover or away from trees and powerlines if safe to do so.

Thankyou to our amazing community who step up to be SES members.

In 2025, 4.9 million people in NSW stepped up to volunteer for a cause.

More than 11,000 of them were our members in orange, heading out into every storm and flood 🧡

Today, on International Volunteer Day, we celebrate those who selflessly give back to their communities. Whether it’s a shift at a Bunnings barbecue for the local kids’ sports club or preparing for a tropical cyclone, volunteers are an invaluable part of NSW - and the world.

Do you thrive under pressure and want to learn the most critical, life-saving rescue skills?

The Urunga NSW SES Unit is urgently seeking dedicated volunteers to join our specialised Road Crash Rescue (RCR) Team!

Why Join the RCR Team?

• Save Lives: Be the one on the scene using the "Jaws of Life" and other hydraulic tools to safely extricate people trapped in vehicles. Your actions can directly save a life. 🧡

• Advanced Training: You will receive nationally accredited training in complex rescue techniques, vehicle stabilisation, patient handling, and scene management. 💪

• Advanced Equipment: Work with cutting-edge rescue equipment and vehicles—learning how to use them with precision and speed.

• Essential Service: NSW SES is the largest provider of RCR in many country areas. This service is vital for the safety of the Urunga community and our local highways.
