We are seeking a warm and empathetic volunteer to join our Community Transport team as a volunteer driver on Wednesdays.

In this position, you’ll support residents by driving them to and from medical appointments, social outings, and recreational activities. At times, you may also assist clients with their walking aids by safely folding and storing them in your vehicle and helping retrieve them upon arrival.

To be successful, you’ll need a current driver’s licence, a solid understanding of road rules, familiarity with the City of Unley area, and strong communication and customer service skills. Reliability and punctuality are essential. Using your own vehicle is preferred but not required.

The City of Unley believes that older residents, people who are frail, or those living with a disability should be able to remain in the familiar environment of their own homes and community for as long as possible. Our volunteer drivers play a vital role in reducing social isolation and helping people enjoy meaningful activities, friendships, and independence.

If you're interested in getting involved, please contact Bec Milner on 8372 5111 or [email protected]

Each volunteer will identify businesses in Unley they know well and often frequent that they believe excel as ‘age friendly’. All businesses are included: shops, cafes and restaurants, medical practices, real estate agents, dentists etc.
