Nine (9) Things the Military doesn't tell you when you join:

1. People back home forget about you until you're on leave, will never visit but ask when you’re coming home.
2. Everyone thinks you’re rich because they see other irresponsible young service members driving cars they can’t afford:
3. Your mental health will be on a rollercoaster. Buckle up.
4. Don't get attached to people or places - you always have to leave eventually.
5. Unless they're next to you, people don't understand what you're going through
6. Everyone is fighting to stay alive - they just don't talk about it.
7. You’ll meet some of the absolute worst people that disguise themselves as leaders. You will also make the greatest friends that are closer than your own family whose friendship will last a lifetime.
8. You Will normalize living conditions that are not meant to be normal.
9. It’s the only job you’ll miss and with no regrets but will be happy that you left all at once.

To The Australian Armed Forces.
Consider this.......No one has been able to explain to me why young men and women serve in the Australian Armed Forces for up to 20+ years, risking their lives & limbs, protecting our freedom, and only get a percentage of their pay on Retirement; While Politicians hold their political positions in the safe confines of the Nation's Capital, protected by these same men and women, and receive a good pension .... after serving only two terms. It just does not make any sense!!
If each person who reads this, will re-post it , in 30 days, most people in Australia , will have got the message ... Including the politicians "!!
This is one message that really should be passed around.
"If you choose not to pass it on, you still have made a choice, and these brave Australian Heroes have given you that right!"
