This is a video i made of us taking a break and relaxing in the War Canoe Cave in the Solomons. the culture and practices of the Tribe that house us is fascinating!
That’s a fascinating and chilling piece of history! The idea of a cave being used as a hideout for war canoes is pretty strategic—hidden from view, waiting for the right moment to ambush. It really paints a picture of a culture with intense warrior traditions and an emphasis on the headhunting practice. The psychological impact of such tactics must have been terrifying for anyone who encountered them.
