What should Community Conversations look like in the future?

Community Conversations are Council’s regular opportunities to meet with Councillors and Council staff, raise local issues and ask questions.

We’d like to understand what works well, what could be improved, and what would make people more likely to take part.

Whether you attend regularly, have been once, or haven’t yet attended, we’d like your feedback.

Feedback closes 15 September 2026.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Council’s National Volunteer Week celebration.

It was great to gather with volunteers from across the Central Coast and recognise the many ways they support, strengthen and connect our community.

Special thanks to our guest panellists Bruce “Tommy” Edwards and Tess Radford for sharing their stories and reflections with us.

And a shout out to the volunteers from the Penguin Community Op Shop and Ulverstone Men’s Shed, who each took home a $100 gift card in our raffle to share with their teams.

More than 7,000 people volunteer across the Central Coast, giving their time, skills and care to local clubs, groups, events, services and causes.

That contribution makes a real difference, and it does not go unnoticed. Thank you to every volunteer who helps make the Central Coast a stronger place to live.

Last week, Mayor Cheryl Fuller was delighted to join students from Ulverstone Primary School at Ulverstone Library for National Simultaneous Storytime. 📚

Each year, children across Australia read the same book, at the same time, to celebrate the joy of reading and the importance of literacy.

This year’s book was Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller by Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd, illustrated by Jake A. Minton. It follows rookie captain Luna Roo as she leads FC Outback in a big match against Bush United, learning about courage, teamwork and backing yourself along the way.

A great chance to celebrate reading with some of our youngest community members. 📖
