Today our Recruitment Officers Nathan & Hannah visited Ulladulla High School for their annual careers day!

Along with many other businesses and services, they got to chat to keen Year 8-12 students and explain their role as a firefighters and what they do around the community.

We hope students got something out of today and enjoyed viewing many different types of opportunities out there.

The BA truck is in town! 🔥🔥🔥

That’s what we call this Fire and Rescue NSW semi trailer training resource. The “BA” stands for breathing apparatus.

Every so often a senior instructor visits us here in at Station 477 Ulladulla with a semi-trailer which contains a mock up house and can simulate smoke and fire conditions firefighters would expect to encounter during offensive firefighting operations.

With full structural uniform and self contained breathing apparatus firefighters can train in near real conditions.

Ulladulla also did a refresher on new splash suits that we would use in the case of a Hazmat incident, ensuring our crew doesn’t get affected by any chemical present on scene.

Just one more way we train to keep our community safer. 🚒

Open Day is back. Saturday 9 May, 10am to 2pm.

Fire stations across NSW are throwing the roller doors open and inviting you in for a closer look behind the scenes at Fire and Rescue NSW.

Expect live demonstrations, a close-up look at the trucks and gear, and the chance to meet your local crews. Families welcome, questions encouraged, free giveaways on offer.

Last Friday the 6th of March, we attended the Milton Show. 🚒

A very popular local show, muddy as always, but we had lots of fun! 😁

Thankyou to all the little (and big!) visitors we had checking out our truck and goodie bags! We hope you all had a lovely weekend! ☀️

At 5:30am this morning, our Ulladulla crew got called to a caravan well alight in at a local caravan park.

With fire fighters in SCBA, we extinguished and smothered the adjoining caravans with foam cutting off oxygen to the fire, which also cools the surface and prevents reignigtion.

Luckily no one was inside or injured.

Thank you Fire and Rescue NSW Station 217 Batemans Bay for your assistance in decontamination of crews.

The Shoalhaven Bush Fire Management Committee (BFMC) is pleased to announce that the draft Bush Fire Risk Management Plan is now available on the RFS and the NSW Government 'Have Your Say' websites for community feedback.
