Over the past few weeks, volunteers from the Ulladulla Unit were presented with certificates from Unit Commander Rod Feltham.

Certificates issued to members were for, provide First-Aid, Beacon Field user, managing of multi teams & VELG maintain trainer qualifications.

Many of these courses are online and also include face to face lessons and are nationally accredited.

A Severe Weather Warning for Damaging Winds has been issued.

The Wind Warning is for parts of the South Coast/ Illawarra, Southern Tablelands.

A complex low-pressure system is bringing strong west to southwesterly winds to parts of the Great Dividing Range today, extending to parts of the Illawarra coast this evening.

Southern and Central Ranges, strong winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with Damaging Gusts of around 90km/h are possible today.

* Move your car away from trees

The temperature has dropped, and puffer jackets are officially back taking over the streets of NSW!

If you haven’t already, it’s time to dust off your winter woolies as there’s a chilly week of weather ahead. Here’s what we’re expecting:
From Tuesday morning to Wednesday DAMAGING WINDS is forecast in parts of the South Coast, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, Snowy Mountains and South West Slopes Forecast Districts. 🍃
West of the Divide is forecast to have GUSTY THUNDERSTORMS, whilst HEAVY RAINFALL is likely across the Southern/Western Slopes leading into Wednesday.
From Thursday morning stay vigilant of FROST and potential BLACK ICE in part of the ranges/western slopes.
❗Beware the dangers of black ice when driving or walking on hard surfaces. Reduce your speed and exercise caution.
If you're heading out into alpine areas, ensure you're prepared:
🔶 Always check the weather and plan ahead
🔶 Carry a personal locator beacon and tell someone your plans
🔶 Complete a National Park trip intentions form and bring the right gear
🛑 With heavy rainfall forecast in some area, remember to steer clear of floodwaters. If you come across a flooded road, turn around and find an alternative route.
Stay safe and prepared:
🔶 Move your car under cover or away from trees and powerlines if safe to do so.
🔶 Tie down loose items in your yard.
🔶 Trim any over heading branches and clear your gutters

🌞Enjoy the sunshine today, as the rain is expected to return, ducks will be happy😀

With the potential for rains to increase over the next few days, now is a good time to check those gutters.

Currently there are no warnings for the local area.

Ulladulla received 26mm of rain up until 9am this morning, Lake Conjola has been opened by Shoalhaven City Council.

Weather conditions are unpredictable and conditions can change quickly, so keep up to date with what's happening in your area, by downloading the Hazards Near Me App, also check www.bom.gov.au

Sand and sandbags are available for self-help and are located at the Telstra tower at Lake Conjola or beach st carpark at Lake Tabourie, if you are in the Ulladulla area you can call 132500

Heads Up, a wet week ahead!

In Preparation for this week, showers are expected to be heavy at times, from Tues through to Friday.

Sand and sandbags are available and located at the Telstra Tower at Lake Conjola & also the beach st carpark at Lake Tabourie, if you are in the Ulladulla area you can request by calling your local unit on 132500.

Shoalhaven City Council have commenced the opening of the lake to assist with rising water levels.
