The Murramarang Rangers, Elders and community had a great couple of days on Country at Narrawallee, using fire as a tool to care for Country the way mob have done for thousands of years.

This cultural burn is part of research led by Aboriginal fire practitioners and knowledge holders, working alongside universities and government. Weโ€™re watching how important plants change over time โ€“ how they grow back, seed, flower, and respond to fire.

๐ŸŒŠ A great day out on Sea Country ๐ŸŒŠ
Earlier this month, Ulladulla LALC hosted a Sea Country Community Cruise to officially launch the NIAA Ranger Program and welcome the new Ranger team.
Community members, staff from government agencies, and Liza Butler MP (Member for South Coast) came together, boarding the boat at Huskisson and taking a relaxed lap around the bay (the sea was calm thankfully!), and we were even welcomed by dolphins (dhaawarri) ๐Ÿฌ
Our team shared an important project on the Impacts of Marine Debris on Cultural Values, alongside research partners from DCCEEW and Alluvium.
A meaningful day on the water, celebrating culture, caring for Country, and working together for the future.
