Allowing children to do things for themselves fosters independence, confidence, and resilience while reducing anxiety
👐 By encouraging autonomy through age-appropriate tasks—such as dressing, food preparing, cleaning, or making decisions—parents move from "doing for" to guiding, which builds essential life skills and self-worth
👐 Key strategies include..... creating a "yes space" for safe exploration, establishing routines, and resisting the urge to do it 'for them'
Today 'little Nipper stood up on a sturdy 'steppa and prepared breakfast 'OneSelf!!👐....Getting a bowl and spoon from the cupboard... pouring out the cereal, adding milk carefully....Miss Libby suppporting & actively supervising whilst self help tasks are carried out
Allowing the Space for Children to be Proud of 'them' and Self efforts☺️
