Man charged with murder, woman charged with hindering investigation after man's death - Tweed Heads

A man and woman have been charged over their alleged involvement in the death of a man in the state’s north this morning.

About 2am (Saturday 6 June 2026), emergency services were called to a home on Seaview Crescent, Tweed Heads, following reports a man had been assaulted.

Officers attached to Tweed/Byron Police District attended and were told a man – aged 34 – had allegedly been assaulted by a man known to him at The Hermitage, Tweed Heads South.

The 34-year-old was then allegedly driven by a woman known to him to a property on Seaview Crescent, where he was left on the driveway.

A short time later, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to the Seaview Crescent property, where they treated the man; however, he died at the scene.

A short time later, police arrested a 31-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman at the home on The Hermitage, Tweed Heads, before taking them to Tweed Heads Police Station.

Crime scenes were established at both locations and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident was commenced.

Following investigations, the man was charged with murder (DV) and the woman was charged with hinder discovery evidence regarding serious indictable offence.

Police will allege in court the woman supplied false information about the assault to officers.

The man was refused bail to face Bail Division Local Court 1 tomorrow (Sunday 7 June 2026).

The woman was granted conditional bail to appear before Tweed Heads Local Court on Monday 29 June 2026.

🚨 Operation King’s Birthday 2026 – Now in Effect 🚨

Operation King’s Birthday kicks off today and runs right through to 11:59pm, Monday 8 June.
Across NSW, you’ll see more police on the roads, targeting the key causes of serious crashes:

- speeding,
- drink and drug driving,
- fatigue,
- seatbelt offences
- mobile phone distraction.

Police will be out there conducting random breath and drug testing, enforcing speed limits, and doing everything we can to reduce road trauma.

Heading to Cooly Rocks On? 🎸🚗

If you’re travelling to the Cooly Rocks On Festival this weekend, expect heavy traffic, delays, and increased police patrols across the Tweed and border areas.

Plan ahead, allow extra time, and look out for pedestrians, classic cars, and large crowds moving between the borders.

But the truth is simple, your decisions behind the wheel matter most.

Your actions can change lives in an instant.
So this long weekend:

• Plan your trip to manage fatigue
• Have a Plan B if you’re going to drink
• Put the phone_down
• Slow down and drive to the conditions

We want you walking through your family’s door, not us knocking on theirs.

Stay safe this King’s Birthday long weekend from the team at Tweed Byron Police District.

⚠️Woman charged after allegedly making bomb threats to schools, airports across NSW ⚠️

Tweed Byron Police have charged a woman over multiple bomb threats to public places across NSW after a multi-agency investigation began early last year.

In March 2025, officers attached to Tweed/Byron Police District commenced an investigation following reports a hoax bomb threat was sent to a school in Murwillumbah.

Following the initial incident, detectives – with assistance from State Crime Command’s Cybercrime Squad, the NSW Department of Education, and the Australian Federal Police – investigated 13 other hoax bomb threats sent to NSW schools between March 2025 and May 2026.

As part of this investigation, detectives also investigated two hoax bomb threats sent to airports in NSW and Queensland, which officers believed were linked to the 13 other threats.

Following extensive investigations, multi-agency investigators executed a search warrant at a home on Hall Drive, Murwillumbah, yesterday (Friday 29 May 2026).

During the search, police located and seized multiple electronic devices believed to have been used in the alleged offences.

Following the search, officers arrested 23-year-old woman before taking her to Tweed Heads Police Station.

She was charged use carriage service to make hoax threat (14 counts), use carriage service to threaten serious harm, and possess unregistered firearm-not pistol/prohibited firearm.

The 23-year-old was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Bail Court 1 today Saturday 30 May 2026).
