Sometimes, the most important conversations start with a simple question 💛

💬 "R U OK?"

R U OK Day is a powerful reminder to check in with the people around us and make genuine conversations part of everyday life.

At BUSY, we’re proud to stand behind a message that matters: making time for each other, listening and staying connected.

Today and every day, ask the question, listen and keep the conversation going.

The right skills can change more than a career. They can change lives 🌟

National Skills Week is back, and this year’s theme, Life Changing, celebrates the powerful role skills play in opening doors for people across Australia.

For people living with disability, injury or health conditions, developing the right skills can build confidence, strengthen independence and create new pathways towards meaningful employment.

Whether it’s exploring career options, preparing for the workplace or building experience in a new role, skills are helping people recognise their strengths and take meaningful steps towards their goals.

BUSY Ability is proud to support people along the way, providing personalised employment support that helps individuals build their skills, prepare for work and connect with opportunities suited to their goals and abilities.

Because skills don’t just prepare people for what’s next. They change what’s possible 💛

A valued employee. A trusted support network. A workplace where strengths are recognised 💛

With support from BUSY Ability, John works with LJ Ho**er, where he’s now known for his dedication, reliability and positive attitude.

Since joining the team, John has built strong relationships with his colleagues and found work he genuinely enjoys with an employer that recognises and values his contribution.

John’s story shows the difference the right opportunity, employer and support can make. BUSY Ability works alongside people with disability and employers to prepare for work, connect people with suitable roles and provide support throughout employment.

For John, that has meant having a trusted team to turn to when needed. For LJ Ho**er, it has meant gaining a dependable employee whose contribution is recognised and valued.

This week, BUSY joins communities across Australia in celebrating NAIDOC Week and the world's oldest, continuous living cultures ❤️💛🖤

NAIDOC Week is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, while taking time to learn, reflect and deepen our understanding. This year also marks 50 years of NAIDOC celebrations, recognising five decades of honouring culture, strength and community.

Across BUSY, our teams will be celebrating in a range of ways, from coming together to learn and reflect, to joining local NAIDOC events across the communities where we live and work.

Wishing everyone a meaningful NAIDOC Week as we celebrate the cultures, stories and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Reconciliation asks something of all of us 💛🖤❤️

As National Reconciliation Week begins, this year’s theme, All In, is a reminder that reconciliation is not something to watch from the sidelines. It calls for listening, learning, reflection and meaningful action.

BUSY recognises the history, cultures and contributions of our First Nations people, and the shared role we all have in building stronger relationships, deeper understanding and a more respectful future.

A fresh start, new skills and a pathway forward 🙌

After relocating from Mareeba to Logan, Ray’s focus was simple — find work and build a better future. Through BUSY Ability’s Workforce Australia Specialist Employment Services program, Ray was supported to identify his strengths, explore suitable job opportunities and take practical steps towards employment.

With guidance from his Employment Consultant, Ray stepped into casual labouring roles, built up his experience and gained valuable references — all leading to securing full-time work in an industry he genuinely enjoys.

Now, Ray’s not only thriving in his new role at a local auto wrecker, but is also setting a powerful example for his family!
💬 “Having a wage is a lot better… I love getting up and going to work every day!”

BUSY Ability is proud to support job seekers like Ray to build confidence, gain new skills and take meaningful steps towards secure employment.
