Last week was Disability Recognition Week, a time to celebrate and support staff and students with disabilities. The NSW Department of Education launched the Hidden Disability Sunflower Scheme, with the sunflower recognised globally as a symbol of non-visible disabilities and conditions.
To celebrate diversity and inclusion, the Ability Café welcomed staff and students to come together, enjoy a coffee, and colour a sunflower. These sunflowers were created to represent the true meaning of support for both visible and non-visible disabilities.
The sunflower montage wall is an amazing collaboration of senior students coming together to celebrate diversity and inclusion within our school community. This beautiful display is now featured in the front office for all to enjoy.
