We had a great visit from self-published author Catherine Rains from Louey's Library last week! She read students her first book 'The Sheepdog who was Afraid of Sheep' before talking about her process for writing, illustrating and publishing a book.

Catherine is also the special judge for our SVC Libraries Writing Competition- which closes on Friday the 12th of June (just over two weeks to go!).

We start them young at the Tumut Library❤️Can you guess what this week's theme was? Yes, Pirates 🏴‍☠️Thanks Toby, Violet and Jane for modelling our Storytime props. As you can see young and old are welcome to come. Storytime is on again at the Tumut Library next Thursday the 4th of June at 10:30am and the theme is 'Hocus Pocus' so get your magic on kids🧙‍♀️

We had a great time this morning taking part in National Simultaneous Storytime at Tumut Library with some special visitors! We read 'Luna Roo' and created some animal puppets.

Thanks to Little Possums Early Childhood Learning Centre for visiting us!

Our regular Storytime is on tomorrow, Thursday 28th of May, at Tumut Library at 10:30am. The theme is pirates!

This Wednesday the 27th of May is National Simultaneous Storytime!

Join us at Tumut Library at 12:00pm to join millions of children, parents, teachers and librarians across Australia who are reading Luna Roo at the same time.

Booking is not required.

It was great to hear Stephanie Alexander in conversation with Adam Liaw, direct from the Sydney Writer's Festival, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of her book, The Cook's Companion. We got a lovely crowd attend the Tumut Library for this author talk and afternoon tea, which included some beautiful cupcakes, made by our generous volunteer Fiona. All attendees left the library feeling very inspired to do some cooking of their own.

We had a lovely morning this morning celebrating our very special library volunteers for volunteers week. The Tumut Library would like to say a big thank you to Regina, Di, Chloe and Fiona (and her chauffeur Andrew) for everything they do to help the library. Our volunteers are involved in assisting with Storytime, Art Programs, Special Events and Fortnightly Home Deliveries, and we wouldn't be able to do what we do without them.
