Darcy has progressed through Stage 5 in the swim scheme! ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŸ

This is what our program is about - not rushing through levels, but building real skill, confidence, and understanding in the water. Darcy has put the time in, listened, and improved week-to-week - now moving on with a solid base behind her.

That steady progression is what sets swimmers up for whatever comes next in their aquatic journey - well done, Darcy! โœจ

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ† Australian Championships Wrap - A Huge Month on the National Stage ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ’™

Three weeks of racing across Multiclass, Age Group and Open Championships, and this squad showed exactly what commitment, resilience and consistency can produce. From national records to breakthrough swims, PBs, finals and medals - the group handled the pressure of a long campaign and kept turning up when it mattered.

Multiclass Championships set the tone!

Aaliyah delivered a standout meet, breaking the Australian 14yrs S6 Record in the 400 Freestyle, and both the Australian 14yrs and Open S6 Records in the 200 Freestyle - lowering them again in the final to take silver. She added bronze in the 100 Backstroke and 50 Freestyle, plus a PB in the 100 Freestyle, all while racing a year up.

Cyrus put together one of his most complete meets to date, claiming gold in the 100 Breaststroke, 100 Backstroke and 50 Backstroke, and adding silver in the 200 IM, 50 Freestyle and 50 Breaststroke - all with big PBs.

Together, they finished 4th in Australia in the Age Group Multiclass standings: 3 gold, 4 silver, 2 bronze, multiple PBs and national records โœจ

Age Group Championships (8 Days) brought a different challenge - long programs, tough conditions, and the need to back up day after day.

Myah closed out a demanding schedule with a PB in the 200 Butterfly, a strong 1:00.68 in the 100 Freestyle, and a 29.56 PB in the 50 Butterfly, finishing just 0.1 outside finals in a field of over 100 swimmers. She handled the 200 IM, 100 Backstroke and multiple doubles with real maturity.

Harry stepped up across distances, producing PBs in the 100 Fly and 800 Freestyle, and finishing as reserve for the B Final in the 400 Freestyle.

Roman wrapped up his final Age Championships with his fastest 100 Breaststroke of the year (1:09.0), building on a season that already included a Commonwealth Games Trials qualifying time.

Sahara fought through tough backstroke conditions to produce a seasonโ€™s best and contribute strongly to the team environment.

And then there was Archie - who delivered one of the standout Age Championships performances in the country.

Across the week, he claimed four national titles:
๐Ÿ… 400 Freestyle
๐Ÿ… 800 Freestyle
๐Ÿ… 1500 Freestyle
๐Ÿ… 200 Butterfly

He finished as the fastest Australian 14-year-old in all three distance freestyle events, completing the distance freestyle treble - a rare and significant achievement at this level. His swims included major drops: 4:08 (400 Free), 8:36 (800 Free) and 16:25 (1500 Free), along with a composed, perfectly timed 200 Butterfly final where he closed in a blistering 32.66 to take gold.

Even with a full program, he kept stepping up: PBs in the 100 Fly (59.49) and 400 IM (4:59) showed not just endurance, but range and race craft.

Head Coach Paul Dowey summed it up simply ๐Ÿ“ฃ
โ€œHe was prepared to take the race on early and back himself. Once he found his rhythm, he didnโ€™t give anything back.โ€

From the opening heats to the final night, Archie led from the front - consistent, composed, and committed. His week stands as one of the strongest Age Championships campaigns by a 14-year-old in recent years, and a clear marker of what hard work at Mingara Aquatic can produce ๐Ÿ’ฆ

Across both meets: medals, national records, 20+ PBs, multiple finals - and a topโ€‘4 national finish in Multiclass. But more importantly - growth. Learning how to race, how to adjust, how to handle pressure, and how to keep showing up ๐ŸŸ

A huge block of racing. A lot achieved - and even more to build on ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŠโ€โ™‚๏ธ Australian Age Championships โ€“ Gold Coast Wrap ๐ŸŠโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

A big week of racing for Mingara Aquatic at the Australian Age Group Championships, with plenty of learning, progression, and some standout moments across the board.

Our swimmers stepped up to the national stage with intent producing over ten personal bests, multiple finals appearances - and learning what it takes to back up performances under pressure ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Archie progressed into multiple finals, including the 200m Freestyle, where he qualified with a 1:59.15 PB and went on to finish 8th in the 14yrs final (6th Australian). He backed that up with another subโ€‘1:59 swim, confirming consistency, before dipping under 5 minutes for the first time in the 400 IM (4:59 PB), finishing 14th overall and 10th Australian.

Finals nights proved special. Archie broke the one minute barrier in the 100 Butterfly (59.49 PB), then delivered a composed, confident swim in the 800 Freestyle - building through the race to post an 8:36 PB (9โ€‘second improvement) and claim his first National Age Group gold medal! He added a second gold on Day 5 in the 400 Freestyle, swimming 4:08, taking 7 seconds off his entry time with a mature, controlled performance. Late in the meet, he continued to tick off milestones with PBs in the 200 IM (2:19) and a sharp 27.97 PB in the 50 Fly, before closing out with the 1500 Freestyle final.

Roman backed up strong form early, going under 31 again in the 50 Breaststroke to earn a spot in the B Final, where he finished in 31.69. He followed that with a solid, controlled swim in the 100 Breaststroke, clocking 1:09.0 - just off his best but his fastest this season - a fitting close to his final Age Nationals and a platform to build from, with a Commonwealth Games Trials qualifier already achieved.

Myah took on a tough program with intent. She kicked things off with a brave 200 Butterfly, dropping 1.9 seconds to post a 2:32 PB, then backed up with a nearโ€‘best 1:10 in the 100 Backstroke. Later in the meet she stepped up in the 200 IM and produced one of her best swims in the 50 Butterfly, taking a big chunk off her PB to go 29.56 and finish 25th in a field of 100+ swimmers, just 0.1 outside finals.

Harry opened his campaign strongly, dropping PBs in the 100 Butterfly (1:00) and 800 Freestyle (8:49), before continuing to build across events with a solid 400 Freestyle that saw him finish as first reserve for the B Final - backing up well across a demanding program.

Sahara brought great energy late in the meet, producing a composed swim in tricky conditions in the 50 Backstroke to record a seasonโ€™s best of 32.24!

Head Coach Paul Dowey summed it up best ๐Ÿ“ฃ
โ€œWeโ€™ve seen athletes learn how to handle the environment, back up swims, stay patient, and execute race plans. The results matter, but itโ€™s how theyโ€™re getting there that counts.โ€

A week of progress, breakthroughs, and important lessons learned - exactly what racing at this level is about โœจ

All this while competing a year up!

What a start to the Australian National Championships over the weekend! ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ’ฆ

Day 1 delivered: 2 GOLD ๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿฅ‡ 1 SILVER ๐Ÿฅˆ + 2 NATIONAL RECORDS ๐Ÿ“

It was a huge opening day on the Gold Coast for Mingara Aquatic - One by Mingara's resident swim club!

Seven athletes represented the club at this meet, a strong reflection of the growing Central Coast program - including Brad Woodward, now training with NSWIS

โฑ Aaliyah set the tone early:
โ€ข 400m Freestyle โ€“ dropped 4 seconds in the final to break the Australian 14yrs S6 record by 20 seconds, finishing 5th
โ€ข 200m Freestyle โ€“ broke both the Australian 14yrs S6 & Australian Open records in the heats, then went even faster in the final (3:02) to claim SILVER!

๐Ÿ’ฅ Cyrus was just as dominant:
โ€ข 100m Breaststroke โ€“ PB in heats, then 1:18.5 in the final to win GOLD and go under the NSW Para Futures qualifying time
โ€ข 50m Backstroke โ€“ stayed composed after a lane rope clash at 25m to take his second GOLD in 33.7

๐Ÿ“ฃ Head Coach Paul Dowey stated:
โ€œThis is what the program is about, giving swimmers the opportunity to step onto a national stage and perform. The way Aaliyah and Cyrus handled themselves shows the standards weโ€™re building at Mingara Aquatics. They raced with confidence and took their chances.โ€

An incredible start - and weโ€™re just getting warmed up! ๐Ÿ”ฅ
