An important message for business facebook users.

An important message for business facebook users.

Are you using a fake facebook profile to manage your business pages?

In the words of the immortal Spice Girls “Stop right now, thank you very much”.

Stop. Please immediately add your personal profile as an administrator or you WILL lose access to your page. I’ve been saying this for years but now the storm is here and Facebook is clearing house left, right and centre.

You will have noticed that lately things have been a bit glitchy in the old Facey. They are moving the furniture around. In fact they are moving the walls around and adding another storey. With the incoming Creator Studio for Pages and the just released new look for personal Facebook, it’s no wonder things are getting buggy. The problem is that all this bugginess coupled with Facebook’s huge team working remotely, it’s near impossible to get any help at the moment.

You need to manage your page using a real Facebook profile. End of tip, end of story.

If you don’t know what I mean, please send me a message and I can talk you through this. I don’t want to have to try and get your page back for you because it’s HARD. Fix it now and you are, in the words of the Spice Girls…I’m joking they never said anything remotely significant 😆 just get yourself sorted out please!

WARNING - really tricky Facebook scam on the loose

Ok I've had a few people message me already today about this one and it's a doozy. Please please do not click on that link and give away your identification as it can and will be used to hack into Facebook and god knows what else.

Please let people know, especially as once they hack your friends, they can get info on you and see your messages and so much more.

Argh.

Our Story

The LV Digital Shed operates from The VRI in Traralgon. Volunteers with technology knowledge and experience assist older people with mobile phones, laptops and tablets.

We give 1:1 assistance to people with technology. It is a drop in service, no appointment necessary. We have helped local community organisations to set up websites, social media sites and assisted small emerging businesses in these areas as well.

The Digital Shed began in 2013 at Traralgon Neighbourhood Learning House Inc. with a Learn Local Innovation grant. We partnered with Lavalla Catholic College to allow students to share what they knew about technology. The LV Digital Shed won the Learn Local Excellence in Digital Literacy Innovation Award in 2014.

We are passionate about Digital Literacy and making sure that people in our community get assistance with new technology.
