𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶-𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿

🚫 Multi-site pool passes are no longer valid and are not accepted at our aquatic facilities across Townsville.

👍 Old multi-site pool passes can be swapped for a current pass to the pool of your choice from Monday 10 July - Tuesday 10 October 2023.

📍 Head to Council’s Property Management Office at the Garbutt Operations Centre on Hugh Street, Garbutt (opposite Martinez Avenue) between 8am and 4:30pm to exchange your old pass.

Tobruk will be open 8am - 2pm this Monday 3rd July.

This means there will be no monday programs. So no squads and no aqua aerobics.

Please note our 50m lap pool, and 25m learn to swim pool are still OPEN.

All learn to swim lessons are going ahead in the 25m learn to swim pool as normal 😊

A number of public pools across Townsville are closed this weekend after routine quality testing across the tropical city identified a positive test to Pseudomonas Aeruginosa bacteria.

This naturally occurring bacteria is not uncommon in tropical environments and likely caused by a combination of warm weather and rain.

The closures affect the:
▪️ 25m Kokoda Pool
▪️ 50m Long Tan pool
▪️ Northern Beaches Leisure Centre Learn to Swim pool
▪️ Tobruk toddler pool
▪️ Riverway toddler pool and lower lagoon.

Council conducts frequent water testing on its five public pools and is committed to providing safe recreational spaces for residents and visitors to use across the city.

Council has treated the pools this afternoon and will re-test the pools tomorrow, with results available on Monday April 24.

With Council’s keen focus on providing the highest standard of public facilities, each pool will remain closed until water testing results demonstrate conditions are back to their usual standard.
