Townsville Toy Library is a volunteer-operated toy library service for children 0-12 years.

🧸Opening Times - EVERY Tuesday and Saturday of the month from 9:30am-11am. The first Thursday of the month from 430pm-6pm
(normally closed for public holidays and long weekends)

🧸Membership - Join up any time. Family membership is $100/year or $80/6 months and entitles you to borrow toys and puzzles for up to one month for no extra cost.

🎪 SOFT PLAY
Members of the Toy Library are able to borrow our soft play. Please see our website or the NOTES section on this page for full details. Enquiries can be sent via Facebook message or an email to [email protected]

🥳PARTY TOYS
Many of the toys available at the toy library are fantastic for parties or when having family or friends over. However, we also have a set of items which are designated as "party toys" that can be booked in advance. Please see our website or the NOTES section of this page for full details. 🏠🏆 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝘀, 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀🏆🏠

We are getting closer to launching our MEGA raffle fundraiser but still need some more prizes to make it our biggest raffle yet! We are hoping to add a variety of new toys as well as gift vouchers for local businesses relating to children and families. This will be drawn just in time for Christmas 🎄

👷‍♀️🏗 𝘼𝙡𝙡 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙘𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙖𝙛𝙛𝙡𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙨 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝙤𝙛 𝙗𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖 𝙡𝙖𝙧𝙜𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙙 𝙣𝙚𝙭𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙮 𝙡𝙞𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙧𝙮. This will provided more space for us to continue growing our toy collection as well as the perfect space to hold community events.

🎲 Games we love for 8 year olds 🎲

At 8 years old, children are ready for games with more complex rules, strategy and decision making. This makes boardgames a fantastic way to learn and have fun at the same time 🥳

Boardgames provided endless benifits to children's learning and development such as problem solving skills, social skills, foundations of numeracy and literacy, patience and resilience, communication and independent thinking 🤔

🧩 Ever wondered how many toys get borrowed each month from the library? Well 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝘄 𝟵𝟳𝟮 𝘁𝗼𝘆𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀, providing opportunities to play, explore, learn and discover!

🙋‍♀️ We had 𝟭𝟮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻 and many of our existing members renew to continue the joy of play.

🪀 Each month we add a vareity of new toys and in the past month 𝟲𝟱 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘁𝗼𝘆𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. These include ones purchased brand new by us as well as those donated by our wonderful community.

🥳 None of this would be possible without our incredible team of volunteers who give up their time to ensure the toy library is able to open.

We love our puzzles and boardgames here at the Toy Library! Puzzles and games improve mental health, sharpen cognitive skills, and support early childhood development by providing a full brain workout 💪

This month we are encouraging our members to borrow boardgames and puzzles. 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙙𝙙 𝙖𝙣 𝙚𝙭𝙩𝙧𝙖 𝙗𝙤𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙜𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙤𝙧 𝙥𝙪𝙯𝙯𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩, 𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙜 9 𝙩𝙤𝙮𝙨 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙤𝙣 𝙡𝙤𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙩 𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙚! Perfect timing for the upcoming school holidays 😀
