🎨🖌️ Today we had the pleasure of taking part in the ‘Make Your Mark’ Workshop delivered by Townsville City Galleries

Students drew inspiration from The Percival’s, a current exhibition on display at the Art Museum that celebrates the art of portraiture.

Guided by the incredibly talented Kerrie Horrock, students learned a range of artistic techniques to create their own stunning animal portraits.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Kerrie for sharing her expertise, creativity, and passion with our students.

Over the last few weeks of the term the year 1 students were visited by some fire fighters. How awesome! During their first visit we had lots of discussions around what to do in an emergency and what details we need to give first responders after calling 000. The fire fighters came back a couple weeks later to show us all the important parts of their fire engine. We were even lucky enough to test out the fire hose! 😃

Our students have been diving deep into the mysterious world of the Anglerfish! 🐟✨

After researching and learning fascinating facts about these unique deep-sea creatures, students worked hard to write their own information reports. They also explored blending paint techniques to create realistic underwater backgrounds and detailed Anglerfish artworks.

🌱🪱 Our garden was buzzing with excitement today!

Our little learners learned how to transform worm castings from our worm farm into nutrient-rich liquid worm tea to help fertilise the many vegetables currently thriving in our school garden.

A huge thank you to TowTownsville City Councild the Seeds to Success Program. Our new gardening equipment has made maintaining and caring for our garden easier and more enjoyable for everyone involved.

🌟 Calling all families with children aged 0–5 years! 🌟

Join Miss Liz and the wonderful First Five Forever team from Townsville City Libraries tomorrow from 9:00am in the Prep playground.

Your little ones will enjoy a fun-filled morning of stories, songs, and activities designed to support early literacy and a love of learning. The team will also be available to help families sign up for their local library, and each family will receive a special gift bag to take home!

Over the past few weeks in 4/5, students have been working hard researching and writing information texts, learning about the properties of numbers, running mould growth investigations and so much more! It has been wonderful to see students' understandings develop as they research, write, calculate and investigate.
