Katter's Australian Party

Katter's Australian Party Content authorised by B. Fusco for Katter's Australian Party, 2/321 Sturt St, Townsville, QLD 4810 Talk to any young graduate outside the ‘hard sciences’.

Like most Australians, you’d be concerned at the direction our country is taking. Just as concerning is the fact that Labor and the Coalition are not only doing nothing about it, they loath to acknowledge it is something they can, or should address. They talk about Australia being the ‘food bowl’ for Asia, while running our rural industries into the ground. They slavishly ‘spruik’ the open market mantra, while all other countries have market entry restricted, as they see necessary. They and many of our industry representative bodies are in the hands of multi-nationals and have no interest in protecting Australian jobs and the opportunities available to our children and future generations. The jobs aren’t there. Talk to their parents, and you’ll know the companies which offered those jobs in business management, marketing and HR, no longer have offices outside Sydney or Melbourne, if they exist at all. Now even jobs in the education and health sectors are scarce. And that is why:

It’s time for a new kind of government
- Do you want government to continue ignoring our huge loss of jobs in manufacturing?
- Do you want your assets sold to create a monopoly which will charge you a ‘fortune’ for their use?
- Do you want Kevin, Julia or Tony’s idea of a ‘level playing field’, or do you want a fair playing field for all in Australia?
- Do you want government to continue to throw money at problems (eg, education) when it’s not the solution?
- Do you want our environment managed according to science, or a political agenda?
- Do you want our rural sector to collapse, our farmers to abandon the land, and our nation to depend on imported food?
- Do you want government run by failed bureaucrats or the best brains at our country’s disposal? Labor and Liberal, no matter who their leader, will give us more of the same, (with slight variations on a predictable theme), just as they’ve done for the last decade. It’s time for a new kind of government. A government of substance, not ‘spin’. Bob Katter and his team, with the ‘balance of power’ will:
1. Mandate premium shelf space in Coles, Woolworths and Aldi for Australian grown and processed foods.
2. Mandate all government cars will be Australian made if ‘fit for purpose’
3. Stop the sale of public assets.
4. Introduce and apply the right KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) to the performance assessment and remuneration of all bureaucrat managers.
5. Education reform to support better PD and remuneration of Principals and Teachers linked to the results they produce over time with regard to the students they teach.
6. Eliminate the Carbon Tax, prevent an emissions trading scheme and promote the efficient use of biofuels and carbon reduction technologies.
7. End to the ‘Nanny State’. Katter’s Australian Party has a strong team of candidates, who with the ‘balance of power’ and the strength of public opinion, will produce the new kind of government that our country so desperately needs. We, Katter’s Australian Party feel that an open dialogue between ourselves and members of the general public is beneficial to truly understanding the needs of our great nation. COPPERSTRING OPENS UP THE NORTH.

Walford Creek is sitting on an estimated 75 million tonnes of copper, cobalt, zinc, lead, silver and nickel resources.

It has the potential to create hundreds of jobs, support local businesses and add another major project to the North West Minerals Province.

Walford Creek wants to connect into CopperString as the project develops, but until that connection is there, it will be forced to rely on diesel power.

That’s exactly why this transmission line matters.

CopperString doesn’t just service existing industry. It opens up the North West for the next generation of mines, gives new projects confidence to invest and helps strengthen the future of the Mount Isa copper smelter.

The minerals are here. The projects are coming.

Now get CopperString built all the way to Mount Isa.

The Leukaemia Foundation has again highlighted what we’ve been saying for some time, Queensland’s Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme isn’t keeping up with the real cost of accessing treatment.

For regional and remote Queenslanders, specialist care can mean travelling hundreds or even thousands of kilometres and spending weeks away from home.

We’ve been pushing the Government to lift PTSS rates because getting sick in the bush shouldn’t come with an extra financial penalty.

It’s time the scheme reflected the real cost of getting treatment outside the south-east corner.

GLENCORE ARE AT IT AGAIN!

Penny pinching exercises that hollow out remote communities.

Glencore have engaged Pacific National using driver sleeper wagons, effectively implementing FIFO workforce.

This threatens high paying jobs in small communities along the Mount Isa Line, all to save a few bucks.

If companies are going to operate in Queensland they need to make decisions that are in sync with the community, not their Swiss boardroom.

This is unacceptable, Robbie Katter MP is calling on the government to force Glencore to change their decision, and to support rural and remote towns.

Pay parents to restore birthrates towards a million a year in a century

A bold plan to reverse the plunging birthrate by recognising the value of unpaid care has been rejected by Government in favour of incentivising more working parents of our “vanishing race”, warns the Father of the House of Representatives and North Queensland MP of half-a-century, Bob Katter.

In addition to asking for a $75,000 payment per birth, the Federal Member for Kennedy this week asked the Treasurer in Question Time to help families crippled by the cost-of-living crisis with taxable income-splitting to boost disposable incomes for spouses raising children on a single wage by about 10 per cent on average....

PROUDLY PATRIOTIC 🇦🇺

The scenes in Brisbane today send a pretty clear message Australians want to be heard.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with standing up for our country, our way of life and proudly flying the Australian flag.

As Bob Katter has spent a lifetime reminding us, a country worth having is a country worth fighting for.

KAP was proud to have a presence at today’s march, standing alongside Australians who aren’t afraid to stand up for their country.

We should never be made to feel ashamed for standing under our own flag.

Australia is worth standing up for. 🇦🇺

🍌 PROTECT OUR BANANAS. KEEP IMPORTS OUT.

Panama TR4 continues to threaten banana farms in the Tully Valley and Bob Katter has been warning about the threat to Australia’s banana industry for years.

KAP’s position has been clear: keep foreign bananas out of Australia and protect our growers from imported pests and diseases.

When Australia can grow its own bananas, why would we gamble with the livelihoods of our farmers and the biosecurity of an entire industry?

Back in 2017, Bob was calling for stronger action against TR4.

Nearly a decade later, the threat hasn’t gone away and neither has the need to protect Australian production.

No banana imports. Back our growers. Protect Australian food production. 🍌🇦🇺

CRIME ISN’T A SPREADSHEET QUEENSLANDERS DESERVE TO FEEL SAFE

You can quote statistics and studies all day long but that means very little to Queenslanders who no longer feel safe in their own homes.

People want consequences for offenders, support for victims and the right to protect their families and property.

Queenslander want Castle Law

Governments should be judged on whether Queenslanders feel safe not whether they can find a statistic that says they should.

If you’ve had enough of excuses, contact your local MP and tell them Queenslanders want Castle Law, not another set of statistics.
