Like most Australians, you’d be concerned at the direction our country is taking. Just as concerning is the fact that Labor and the Coalition are not only doing nothing about it, they loath to acknowledge it is something they can, or should address. They talk about Australia being the ‘food bowl’ for Asia, while running our rural industries into the ground. They slavishly ‘spruik’ the open market

mantra, while all other countries have market entry restricted, as they see necessary. They and many of our industry representative bodies are in the hands of multi-nationals and have no interest in protecting Australian jobs and the opportunities available to our children and future generations. The jobs aren’t there. Talk to their parents, and you’ll know the companies which offered those jobs in business management, marketing and HR, no longer have offices outside Sydney or Melbourne, if they exist at all. Now even jobs in the education and health sectors are scarce. And that is why:

It’s time for a new kind of government
- Do you want government to continue ignoring our huge loss of jobs in manufacturing?
- Do you want your assets sold to create a monopoly which will charge you a ‘fortune’ for their use?
- Do you want Kevin, Julia or Tony’s idea of a ‘level playing field’, or do you want a fair playing field for all in Australia?
- Do you want government to continue to throw money at problems (eg, education) when it’s not the solution?
- Do you want our environment managed according to science, or a political agenda?
- Do you want our rural sector to collapse, our farmers to abandon the land, and our nation to depend on imported food?
- Do you want government run by failed bureaucrats or the best brains at our country’s disposal? Labor and Liberal, no matter who their leader, will give us more of the same, (with slight variations on a predictable theme), just as they’ve done for the last decade. It’s time for a new kind of government. A government of substance, not ‘spin’. Bob Katter and his team, with the ‘balance of power’ will:
1. Mandate premium shelf space in Coles, Woolworths and Aldi for Australian grown and processed foods.
2. Mandate all government cars will be Australian made if ‘fit for purpose’
3. Stop the sale of public assets.
4. Introduce and apply the right KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) to the performance assessment and remuneration of all bureaucrat managers.
5. Education reform to support better PD and remuneration of Principals and Teachers linked to the results they produce over time with regard to the students they teach.
6. Eliminate the Carbon Tax, prevent an emissions trading scheme and promote the efficient use of biofuels and carbon reduction technologies.
7. End to the ‘Nanny State’. Katter’s Australian Party has a strong team of candidates, who with the ‘balance of power’ and the strength of public opinion, will produce the new kind of government that our country so desperately needs. We, Katter’s Australian Party feel that an open dialogue between ourselves and members of the general public is beneficial to truly understanding the needs of our great nation. 🎶🤠 At the Charters Towers Country Music Festival street parade, Robbie heard a song coming from the Homegrown float and asked, "Who’s that?"

The answer was Homegrown.

Curious, Robbie looked them up later and ended up spending the next hour listening to their music. What an impressive group of young musicians.

It got him thinking about how many talented country music artists have come out of the Traeger electorate over the years. From small communities and country towns, the region continues to produce performers who proudly carry the spirit of the bush onto stages across Australia.

There’s something special about seeing young people back themselves, chase their passion and share their talent with the rest of the country.

The future of country music is looking pretty good. 🎶👏🤠

🏁🐂 The Julia Creek Dirt n Dust Festival never disappoints.

It was a fantastic weekend filled with plenty of laughs, plenty of dust and a great atmosphere, bringing locals and visitors together to celebrate one of outback Queensland's most iconic events.

A huge congratulations to the organisers, volunteers, competitors and local businesses who work so hard to make Dirt n Dust such a success year after year. Events like these are what keep our regional communities strong and vibrant.

The dust may have settled, but the memories certainly haven't.
Now the question is... where are we off to next? 🤠🚗💨

MUST WATCH 🎥

This is one of the most absurd political situations Shane Knuth has seen.

Voters were told electing Government MPs would give them a “seat at the table” to deliver Breach Bail, Go to Jail laws.

But now those same Government MPs are running around with a petition, begging their own Government to introduce bail laws they already promised would be delivered.

Meanwhile, when KAP tabled its Castle Law Bill, backed by a record-breaking 113,000 Queenslanders, they turned a blind eye.

If they need a petition to convince their own Government, they don’t have a seat at the table. They’ve been left standing outside the door. 🚪

MEDIA RELEASE Robbie Katter MP

Show Me the Poles and Wires, Give Western Link Confidence: Katter

More announcements, still no poles and wires! The Leader of the KAP and state Member for Traeger Robbie Katter said in response to the Treasurer’s announcement on CopperString in Townsville.

“You have to ask yourself, is the LNP serious about building CopperString, or are they just like Labor? He said.

The KAP leader, while acknowledging the investment in the forward budget, was frustrated there were still no poles and wires, and the miners in the west were no more confident of ever being connected to the NEM, despite $403 million being allocated in the 2025-26 financial year.

“If there’s been more than $400 million spent in the last 12 months, it’s awfully hard to see what it’s gone to, and that’s a problem. We all need confidence that Mount Isa and the North West will be connected,” Mr Katter said.

“We can’t lose sight of what this project is all about; giving miners the confidence to develop the North West Minerals Province. Nothing less.

“To do that you need to build all the way to Mount Isa and prove that you will – not just in words or numbers in a spreadsheet.

“When I see reports of 76 million litres of diesel being burned for power, and mines building their own solar and wind farms, you’d think we’re in a remote underdeveloped third world country! It’s embarrassing.

“This sort of environment for investors doesn’t line up with the reality of us being a critical minerals and copper powerhouse. It’s like our governments and their city bureaucrats are doing everything in their power to hold the state and the North West back,” the Member for Traeger said.

Mr Katter reiterated that he was critically concerned that mines with massive development potential are no more, and even less confident that they will ever be connected to the NEM.

“You’d think the LNP would be better at this development business than Labor, but to date, they’ve just delivered the same – no confidence,” the KAP Leader said.

“More than $700 billion of critical minerals and metals are stuck in the ground, and a key enabler is reliable and affordable power. And we just don’t have that.

“Even if there were confidence, but starting construction west, as well as east, the investment, and boom to Queensland’s economy and rural jobs would kick off.

“While the western link remains a ‘maybe, nice to do’, and there are no poles or wires anywhere, we’re really at a standstill, being fed nice words and numbers from Brisbane.

“Get on with the poles and wires and show us the western link will go ahead; with action, not words,” Mr Katter said.

⚡ $3.2 BILLION ANNOUNCED. NOW SHOW US THE POLES AND WIRES.

Another CopperString announcement has been made, with the State Government committing $3.2 billion to the project.
Funding is welcome, but North Queensland has heard plenty of announcements before.

The real question is this: when will we see poles in the ground and wires heading west?

More than $700 billion worth of critical minerals sits in the North West waiting for reliable power, yet miners are still being asked to make investment decisions without certainty that CopperString will ever reach Mount Isa.

CopperString was never meant to stop halfway. The whole point was connecting the North West Minerals Province to the National Electricity Market and giving industry the confidence to invest.

North Queensland doesn't need more press conferences.
We need construction. We need certainty. We need the western link.

Build the poles. String the wires. Give the North West confidence.

🐗 Every pig counts.

When it comes to controlling feral pig numbers, every tool available should be on the table and that includes pig hunting competitions.

Events like the Hotel Euramo's Boar and Barra Bash do more than bring hunters together. They help remove destructive pests from the landscape, encourage knowledge sharing, support local communities and keep the conversation going about practical feral animal control.

Too often, recreational hunters are overlooked despite spending countless hours and their own money helping protect farms, waterways and native habitats.

There is a strong case for greater government support for hunting competitions as a way to complement formal pest control programs and bridge the gaps between large-scale control operations.

The people on the ground are already doing the work. Why not back them?

🐗 Have you ever participated in a pig hunting competition?

🐗 With an estimated 2.3 million feral pigs across Queensland, we need to remove around 1.6 million every year just to stop numbers increasing.

Not to reduce their numbers. Not to get on top of the problem. Just to stop the population from growing even larger.

These destructive pests are tearing up crops, destroying waterways, spreading disease, preying on native wildlife and costing farmers and communities millions every year.

Across some of the toughest country in the state, locals are already doing the hard yards protecting farms, livestock and the environment from one of Australia's biggest pest problems.

They've got the determination. They've got the local knowledge.
The question is: when will governments get serious about backing them?

How bad is the feral pig problem in your area? 🐗⬇️
