On Thursday, students from Kirwan High hosted their annual Kirwan High Model United Nations (KMUN) with students from Charters Towers and William Ross also in attendance, stepping in their roles of global leaders.
Throughout the day, students took part in a series of interactive activities designed to develop their skills in diplomacy, negotiation, teamwork and public speaking, before coming together for the conferenceโs main debate:
A Better Future Begins with What We Choose to See.
Students were also privileged to hear from guest speaker Debra Sitati from the Queensland Human Rights Commission, who shared valuable insights with students as they explored the important issues at the heart of this yearโs conference.
This yearโs KMUN challenges students to explore the confronting global issue of human trafficking and its humanitarian and ethical impacts, encouraging them to think critically, collaborate and consider how global communities can work together to create meaningful change.
KMUN provides a fantastic opportunity for students from across our region to come together, tackle complex global issues and develop practical skills that reach far beyond the classroom. ๐๐ค
