This Saturday, our Kirwan High Cowboys Challenge Team will be out at the Hudson St Drop Off Zone washing cars to help raise funds for their upcoming Sydney Tour.

⏰ 8:30am – 1:00pm

Car Wash — $10 per car
💳 EFTPOS available

🎟 Plus, the boys will be running a raffle with a fantastic BCF Prize Pack up for grabs! Tickets are 1 for $2.00, 3 for $5.00, 10 for $7.00. Thank you to BCF Deeragun for kindly donating a prize.

There’ll also be a sausage sizzle and cold drinks available for purchase 🌭🥤

Congratulations to our Kirwan High students who proudly represented North Queensland at the Schoolboys Hockey Carnival over the weekend.

A special congratulations to Finn, who was named Player of the Tournament and earned selection in the Queensland Merit Team — an outstanding achievement!

We are incredibly proud of our talented Instrumental Music students who recently represented our school at Instrumental Fanfare.

These achievements are a testament to the dedication, hard work and passion of our students, as well as the commitment of our Instrumental Music staff.

Performing at such a high level is no small feat, and we congratulate every student involved for their outstanding efforts both on and off the stage.

We're excited to launch the very first Kirwan State High School Festival of Basketball!

Join us on Thursday 30 July as our students take to the court for an afternoon of exciting basketball action, community spirit and plenty of fun both on and off the court.

Watch four great match-ups featuring our Kirwan teams, including the always entertaining Year 12 Students v Teachers clash and the Open Boys taking on Ignatius Park in the feature game.

🎪🌏 𝗖𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗙𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗔𝗟 | 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨 🌏🎪

What an incredible afternoon celebrating the rich cultures that make our Kirwan community so special.

From the delicious food and vibrant market stalls to the outstanding song and dance performances, our 2026 Culture Festival was a wonderful showcase of diversity, connection and community spirit.

A huge thank you to our dedicated staff, volunteers and families who generously gave their time and energy to make the event possible. Your support behind the scenes and throughout the afternoon helped create an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

Most importantly, thank you to our students. Whether you performed, prepared food, helped run a stall or simply came along to celebrate, you are what makes this event so special. We are incredibly proud of the way you shared your cultures and brought our community together.

♟️𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡♟️

After weeks of dedicated lunchtime practice in the library, our students put their skills to the test at the NQ Interschool Chess Competition held at Annandale Christian College.

With 5 teams competing, 4 Senior and 1 Junior, our players took on students from schools across Townsville over 7 rounds.

A huge congratulations to the KSHS Senior Team B, who achieved a Bronze Medal, placing 3rd overall out of 20 teams in B Division! 🥉

Our Senior C and D team just missed out on the medals, coming in equal 4th and our juniors placing a respectable equal 10th.

Adding to the success, 9 students earned Merit Awards for scoring 4.5 points or more across their matches. 🌟

The day provided a wonderful opportunity for students to develop their chess skills while showcasing their determination and focus.

We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing them compete again in Term 3 at Ryan Catholic College!

Congratulations to our Year 9/10 girls who represented Kirwan High at the Karyn Murphy Cup last Friday.

We had excellent participation between girls with enough players to form two teams! Both teams played well throughout the day and should be proud of their achievements.

What a fantastic afternoon celebrating rugby league at Kirwan State High School!

From our youngest players right through to our senior teams, every Kirwan side took to the field with pride and represented the school exceptionally well.

The Festival of Rugby League showcased the strength of our program, the culture within our teams, and the incredible support that surrounds Kirwan rugby league. It was great to see students, staff, families, sponsors, alumni and community members come together to enjoy an afternoon of footy, food and fun.
