Townsville Central State School Townsville Central State School, Townsville's oldest school The school is located close to The Strand and to the central business district.

Townsville Central State School is the oldest school in Townsville and the school has a very strong and positive community atmosphere. We provide a high quality education to students from Prep to Year 6 within a Positive Culture for Learning (PCL) philosophy supporting The Resilient Child. The school also runs, through the P&C, an Outside School Hours Care program, before school, after school and during vacations.
