Pimlico State High School Performing Arts Pimlico State High School (PSHS) has a long history of being a school of excellence for those who wish to participate in the performing arts.

To provide the school and wider community with information relating to performing arts, both within the school and to opportunities that the students, their family and friends may be interested in. Its students are not only involved with performing arts within the school, but are also active in many local community arts organisations. With an experienced and dedicated arts teaching faculty, the instruction given is the equal to any metropolitan-based student. Every student is encouraged and guided to perform to the best of their ability. Whether performing as a soloist, or as a member of one of the school's 9 ensembles, Pimlico musicians are highly regarded with many being selected to participate in Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Instrumental Music (MOST) and State Honours Ensemble Program (SHEP). From the strong foundations established at Pimlico SHS, many past students have continued their performing arts and forged a career from what they first learnt at the school...our alumni...and we're very pleased for them and proud to know where they came from. With the promise by the Qld. State Government of a new Performing Arts Centre (PAC), the well-established performing arts programs already embedded as part of the school's culture can only be further strengthened. This year, our Year 12 students have chosen Mummy’s Wish as the beneficiary of our annual Charity Benefit Concert.

Mummy’s Wish provides practical and emotional support to Australian families when a mum is diagnosed with cancer, helping families manage the enormous impact that cancer treatment can have on everyday life.

This final performance of what is often described as Handel's greatest work marks the culmination of an extraordinary musical journey that has brought together singers, instrumentalists, volunteers, supporters, and audiences from across Queensland and beyond.

Without the valued partnership of the Great Barrier Reef Orchestra and the Opera Queensland Young Artists Program this final performance would not be possible. Their artistic contribution has enriched this project immeasurably and helped create a truly collaborative celebration of music-making and without local soloists, including Harrison T from Pimlico State High School, the lead-up performances would have floundered and to them, many thanks.
