The 4th Health Battalion was raised on the Army Order of Battle on 18 January 2022. The 4th Health Battalion provides provide combat and allied health capabilities in support of joint, combined or interagency elements, primarily in the North Queensland region, and will provide frontline health support to Australian Defence Force personnel at home and on operations.
4 HB is comprised of a highly
skilled workforce that at short notice is able to provide critical mission capabilities, including preventative services, primary health, aero-medical evacuation, pre-hospital care and other allied health services in remote, hostile and austere environments. The unit is comprised of General Service Officers, Military Doctors, Nurses, Medical Technicians (with paramedic and enrolled nursing qualifications), Physiotherapists, Pharmacists, Dentists, Dental Assistants, Psychologists, and Environmental Health personnel.
