We had the pleasure of hearing from Jessie McCartney, co-founder of the award-winning Belong in Hockey, a Toowoomba initiative using the power of sport to support refugees, particularly Yazidi families, as they find their place in our community.

Through weekly training sessions, Belong in Hockey builds confidence, friendships, and even English skills — proving that sport really can change lives. 💛

We are so grateful for the time Jessie and Elizabeth Laverty have taken to share what they have created right here in our own backyard. If you haven't heard of Belong in Hockey yet, now is the time to get to know them!
