The Toowoomba Region Council manages 12 library branches including the Mobile Library Service, which residents of Queensland can join and enjoy free-of-charge. To become a Toowoomba Region Libraries member, all you will need is identification confirming your current Queensland residential address. Toowoomba Region Libraries offer extensive access to fiction and non-fiction collections, large print

collections, audiobooks, music CDs, DVDs, children and youth collections, Language Other Than English (LOTE) collection, and magazines. Toowoomba Region Libraries also offers free access to online resources, such as Borrowbox, Libby, Hoopla, Pressreader, Newsbank, and Beamafilm apps. Toowoomba Region Libraries are a community hub, offering vibrant programs for all ages, including First 5 Forever sessions for children aged 0 - 5, held in branches, and in the park. Digital Literacy and 1-on-1 tech classes, author talks and general interest workshops.

Sydney Writers’ Festival will livestream its headline events from Sydney to Toowoomba on Thursday 21, Friday 22, Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 May at The Empire Theatre.

In between events streamed from Sydney, The Empire will once again partner with The Lighthouse Toowoomba, The Book Tree Toowoomba and Toowoomba Region to present in-person conversations with local authors.
