🍓 Kids in the Kitchen at Toodyay Playgroup Adventures! 🍕

What a fun and delicious session we had this past Tuesday! Our little chefs rolled up their sleeves and got busy in the kitchen, creating some amazing food to share.

Here is what our talented masterchefs whipped up:

🍉Fruit Kebabs: Plates of fresh watermelon, bananas, apples, pears, and oranges ready to be threaded onto skewers for a colourful, healthy snack.

🍕Mini Pizzas: Customized english muffin pizzas loaded with tasty toppings like cheese, sliced sausage, and capsicum, baked fresh out of the oven.

It was wonderful seeing everyone practice fine motor skills, discover new foods, and learn together. Thank you to all the parents and carers who helped out.

Tuesday's Playgroup Snapshot: Deep Dive into Ocean Play! 🐠✨

We had the best time on Tuesday—it became an ocean discovery zone. The kids were completely captivated by all the textures, colours, and water play—and to top it all off, we got to celebrate a very special day!

🎉 A huge Happy Birthday to Theo! We hope you had the most wonderful day 🎂🎈

⛵️ Ocean Sensory Trays: Sailing mini wooden boats through blue-rice waves and scoop-and-pour water stations.

🌊 Coral Reef Building: Using playdough, pipe cleaners, and colourful pasta shells to recreate scenes from 'Peep Inside a Coral Reef'.

🐚 Seashore Crafts: Decorating shells and painting wooden starfish and sea turtles to take home.

Messy Play Kitchen: Mixing up "seaweed soup" and scooping blue glass gems through the sand.

A big thank you to everyone who made Tuesday so lively and fun.

We’re excited to share Noongar Little Lessons—a monthly program for ages 0–5 held at Toodyay Playgroup Adventures (1st Wednesday of the month, 10–11 AM). Facilitated by Susan Susie Keys and Taylah Miles, it features Noongar language, story, art, and play.

Insurance & Attendance Note:
If you’re a Toodyay Playgroup Adventures member, your insurance may cover you, so you might only need to pay the attendance/session fee.

🐻 We’re Going on a Bear Hunt at Toodyay Playgroup! 🌾

What a fantastic session filled with sensory exploration, storytime, and creative crafts inspired by Michael Rosen's classic book, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt! 📖✨

Here is a look at what our little adventurers got up to:

Sensory Tray Adventure: The kids swished and swashed through long grass, squelched and squirted through thick oozy mud, splashed and sploshed through deep cold water, and tiptoed through the snowy paper drifts!

Bear Crafting: We practiced fine motor skills with glue sticks and paper bear cut-outs, creating our very own colorful bears to take home.

Paper Plate Bear Masks: Paintbrushes were out in full force as everyone painted their paper plate bear masks to bring the story to life.

Cozy Reading Nook: Families gathered in our reading corner with a massive selection of books to relax and share a quiet moment together.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a fun-filled session! We can't wait to see you all next time for another playgroup adventure.

🐛🦋 Very Hungry Caterpillar Painting Session! 🦋🐛

What a gorgeous morning at Toodyay Playgroup Adventures. Today we brought Eric Carle's beloved classic to life with a hands-on (literally!) caterpillar craft session 🎨

Our little ones dipped their hands in red, blue, yellow and green paint to create the cutest handprint caterpillars, munching their way across a bright green leaf 🌿 We also got squishy and creative with playdough, rolling and pinching our own colourful caterpillars, and finished off with "design your own butterfly" sheets, decorated with pom poms, pipe cleaners and paper shapes ✂️🦋

Such a wonderful sensory and fine-motor session, with sticky fingers and proud little artists showing off their masterpieces 💕

Thank you to all our families who came along - we love seeing your little ones' creativity in full bloom! 🌈

🌿 Hands-On Learning & Outdoor Fun at Bush Kindie! 🪵✨

What a fantastic day of creation, exploration, and nature play! Our little adventurers had a blast diving into these activities:

🐌 Seed Snails & Stick Men: Crafting nature-inspired creatures using twigs, yarn, seeds, googly eyes, and recycled jar lids! 🧶👁️

🌱 Mud Kitchen Magic: Mixing, planting, and exploring with fresh herbs, leafy greens, and potting soil at our outdoor play station! 🌿🥕

🐛 Sensory Bug Hunt: Digging through soil and coco coir to discover hidden creepy-crawlies and garden creatures! 🪲🌾

Nature play gives children the freedom to build fine motor skills, engage their senses, and connect with the natural world around them.

This week Toodyay IGA has happily donated Easter eggs to Kindy Gym, for the kids Easter party egg hunt! 🪺🐇

With this hot weather, we have decided to have an extra Playgroup session next Tuesday (December 23th, 9:30-11:00am), and allow our little ones an extra opportunity for fun, while we keep ourselves a bit cool.
Our room is air conditioned too, for the ones who prefer to play inside 😉.

Please bring:
🔫 Your water pumps/guns,
🧢👒 Sun hats,
🩳🩱 Bathers or change of clothes,
🍎 Your own snacks and drink…
… And let’s have some Splash Fun!!!

We will be opening Playgroup some Tuesdays of January too, so keep an eye on our social media posts, to be part of it. 😊
