National VTQ Recognition

We are incredibly proud to recognise some outstanding achievements within our VTQ Pathways program.

Earlier this year, Darcie Woodhouse-Black and Noah Schuback were each named a VTQ Student of the Week for their commitment, progress and hard work in their Certificate in Adult Education studies.

We are also thrilled to congratulate Miss Georgia, who was recently named VTQ Educator of the Month for August! This recognition reflects the encouragement, guidance and genuine care she provides to students as they work towards their individual goals.

These awards are particularly special because recipients are selected by VTQ from students and educators participating in VTQ programs across Australia.

Congratulations, Darcie, Noah and Miss Georgia! What a wonderful achievement and a proud moment for our school community

Year 8 Hospitality High Tea

Our Year 8 Hospitality students welcomed invited parents and staff to a beautiful high tea this morning.

The students were responsible for every aspect of the event—from planning and creating the menu to designing their table settings, making invitations, decorating, preparing the delicious food and serving their guests.

It was a wonderful opportunity for the students to showcase their creativity, teamwork and hospitality skills, and they did an outstanding job!

Congratulations to all our Year 8 Hospitality students and their amazing teacher, Mrs Lord, on creating such a special morning. 👏

🎥 Stay tuned for a behind-the-scenes look at all the planning and preparation that went into this wonderful event!

TEACHER AIDE APPRECIATION WEEK
This week, we are taking a moment to recognise and celebrate the incredible Teacher Aides who play such an integral role in the lives and education of our students.

The work of a Teacher Aide is so much more than simply helping in a classroom.
Our TAs support learning, build confidence, encourage independence and provide reassurance when things feel difficult. They notice when a student needs an extra explanation, a little encouragement, a quiet word or simply someone in their corner.

They work alongside our teachers, adapt to the needs of individual students, celebrate achievements big and small, and often provide the steady, familiar support that helps a child feel safe, capable and ready to learn.
And so much of what they do happens quietly, without recognition.

They prepare resources, support programs, supervise, problem-solve, listen, encourage, redirect, comfort and advocate. They give their time, patience, energy and heart — often juggling many different students, classrooms and needs in a single day.

The relationships our Teacher Aides build with students matter. Their influence can extend far beyond a lesson or a classroom, helping shape a young person's confidence, sense of belonging and belief in what they can achieve.

To Miss Lea, Miss Nicky, Miss Georgia, Miss Vicki, Mrs Bailey, Miss Lisa, Miss Nat, Miss Mady, Miss Lauren, Miss Jacky and Ms Jayne — thank you for everything you bring to Tin Can Bay P–10 State School.
Your work matters. Your relationships matter. And the difference you make in the lives of our students matters. 💚
