You need this workshop as much as your kids do.

Step one? Build your community. Go say hi to your neighbours - they're your best bet in an emergency.

Join us and the Australian Red Cross for a FREE family workshop and community BBQ. Give your kids a real role to play in an emergency - it's one of the best ways to help them feel safe and capable, not scared.

Come celebrate Indigenous knowledge, and learn about the seasons of this land as well as Treaty ❤️💛🖤

🕓 4:00pm - 'Play School: Walking Together' (for kids & families, snacks provided, parent supervision required)

🕕 6:30pm - 'Seven Seasons' (documentary screening (~30 mins) followed by discussion, food provided)

Zoe, Span’s Manager is in Canberra representing Neighbourhood houses as part of the Australian Neighbourhood Houses & Centres Association delegation.

We’ve been talking to politicians about the support our grassroots organisations need to do the work we do in building stronger communities, reducing loneliness, welcoming everyone and building climate resilience.

We particularly championed reform so that neighbourhood houses can benefit from deductible gift recipient status which would open up more commercial and philanthropic investment and make us less reliant on government funding.

Zoe, Span’s manager, is in Canberra as part of the Australian Neighbourhood Houses & Centres Association delegation (peak body for neighbourhood houses). We’re asking politicians to support neighbourhood houses through tax reform and recognise the important role they play in building climate resilient communities and social cohesion.

Join us for two FREE family events with the Australian Red Cross, and learn practical ways to prepare - all while having some fun together!

Children who are involved in emergency preparedness - and know what to do - tend to cope better during and after a traumatic event. These sessions are a great way to build that confidence together as a family.

It was not your average day as Span became a filmset for Lola and the Lollipop Lady. Our front reception area transformed into a school office, actors and the film crew took over and the cameras rolled. 🎥🍿🎬

Join us for gentle, mindful movement every Wednesday & Thursday at 10:30am at Span Community House, 64 Clyde Street.

Led by Rani, a recognised tai chi master and occupational therapist, these sessions blend traditional tai chi practice with therapeutic movement expertise. Improve your balance, flexibility, and sense of calm.

Bird Flu has been found in Merri Bek, it's not 'somewhere else'. It's very sad. However, there are some things we can do. Please watch this video, and call the 24-hour Emergency Animal Disease Hotline on 1800 675 888 to report any concerns.

Keep your cats inside, chickens away, and dogs on leashes so they don't get sick, and keep spreading the disease.
