We are activist members of the NSW Teachers Federation and through our involvement seek to build a fight to bust open pay caps, to reduce damaging workload, the agenda of privatisation and actions across all unions. We believe that the true s

trength of teachers resides in collective industrial action and believe it should be the central strategy of the NSW Teachers Federation. The ATN jointly publishes a newsletter called Class Action

It is alarming that One Nation has passed in front of both Labor and the LNP in the latest polling. While this is yet to translate into 2 party preferred seats at a general election, there is no time to wait until the NSW election in March 2027, Victorian this year or even the next Federal election.

As UK Greens leader Zak Polanski (who is battling Nigel Farage's Reform party) says -

“There reaches a point, though – and I imagine from the way you describe One Nation, you might have reached that point already – where they are dominating the news agenda or, far too often, other political parties are constantly dancing to their tune.

“So I think it reaches a point where actually you do just need to take them on – and you need to take them on directly by being that antidote.”

One Nation has been feeding on the disappointment of Labor at both the federal and state levels- failure to fully fund schools, hospitals and public housing now, wages falling behind inflation and cuts to the NDIS, all the while AUKUS is given billions for nothing in return

While the Liberals and even National party have been carved out from the right by One Nation, especially with racist scapegoating of migrants, Labor too is losing swinging voters, days Redbridge. Labor has fuelled the racism refusing visas to Iranians, maintaining detention, and fuelling islamophobia with the Royal Commission into anti-semitism

Which is why we need the AEU to campaign now for the full school funding which Albanese has fudged into the never never of 2035- it is exactly this cynical ploy that sees voters switch off from the (previously) major parties

Unions need to lead a fight to reverse the NDIS cuts. ATN has started that with motions at city and country associations

Australian Greens should ‘take on’ Pauline Hanson’s One Nation, Polanski tells Victorian party conference, just as he took on Nigel Farage’s Reform UK

Today, we handed down the report to the inquiry I have been chairing into the early childhood education and care sector. It’s a significant moment in our campaign to expose the issues and chart a course for reform for this vital sector.

Early childhood education and care in New South Wales is in crisis. While the sector is entrusted with the safety, wellbeing and development of our youngest children, the evidence before this committee revealed a system under profound strain—one that is failing too many children, families and educators.

The process of repair and reform are just getting started. The safety, care and education of children is too important to let go once the media cycle moves on.

Labor's budget CUT funding for public schools

18.4% over 4 years is just 4.3% per year compounded which is below inflation- not a "rise", a cut in real terms

This includes a cut of $463million for school disability funding, which will worsen the impact of their cuts to funding autistic kids from the NDIS

These cuts paying for AUKUS and wars on the middle east

Federal spending on private schools under Labor is growing FASTER than funding to public schools.

Labor's pouring $59 million a day into the private system while public school buildings crumble and teachers dip into their own pockets to buy supplies.

What are we even doing here?
