Running from 27 September to 11 October 2026, this free exhibition brings together the work of six local photographers and artists with a shared passion for the Central Coast and its marine environment.💙

From rugged coastlines, seascapes and rocky reefs to sponge gardens, marine creatures and fleeting moments of behaviour, Coastal Encounters reveals the diversity and beauty of the marine world that surrounds us.🐋

Meet the Artist ✨

With a background in art, marine biology and environmental education, Margot Hislop combines all these skills to create her scientific illustration-style watercolour artworks.

Drawing animals since she could hold a pencil, she was always fascinated and somewhat obsessed with the natural world, particularly how animals live within their environment. You could say she was a budding biologist and scientific illustrator right from the get-go.

It is hoped that Margot’s art conveys a passion for ocean wildlife and the educational messages it contains help generate a new or deeper connection and care of our planet.

FREE SHORTIE MEET & GREET THIS WEDNESDAY MORNING!

We're so excited to welcome Shortie The Therapy Pony to Parklife Coffee this coming Wednesday morning. Join us bright and early for lots of pony cuddles, and help us raise money to support Shortie's amazing work in our local community.

📆 Wednesday 12th August 2026
⏰️ 7:30am - 9am
📍Parklife Coffee, 11 Terrigal Drive, Terrigal (next to the Marine Discovery Centre & Terrigal Fire Station
🎫 Shortie meet-and-greets are free! Brush his coat, give him cuddles and pats, feed him his favourite treats, and snap lots of photos!
🧁 Optional morning tea and craft activities will also be available by gold coin donation.
✅️ Available facilities: Free parking, toilet with change facilities, fully-fenced park, on-site cafe with ramp access.

A portion of all coffees purchased at Parklife, plus any donations received, will be used to fund gift bags for sick children in Gosford Hospital - to be personally delivered by Shortie!

We're parents ourselves, so we have lots of fresh, kid-friendly options available all day at Parklife Coffee.

From Fairy Bread and other little treats, to our Kids Picnic Pack packed with crunchy veggie sticks, hummus, fresh fruit, and a sandwich, there's something for every hungry little visitor!

Kids even eat free on Wednesdays - grab one of our selected toasties or wraps for yourself, and score up to TWO free kids toasties.
