COMING TO A WATER SOURCE NEAR YOU

Our brigade has been busy getting our quickfill tralier ready for this upcoming fire season.

We have put some new stickers on it and got a new second hand pump from another local brigade.

A big shout out to all involved to make this happen!

🚒 Hose testing fun 🚒

Today was a fantastic effort of our volunteers we managed to get 15 hoses tested dried and rerolled. Ready to replace hoses on our trucks after a job.

We also have to test the hoses on our trucks even if they haven't been used to ensure they are ready to go when everyone's counting on them most!

Did you know we have two diffrent sizes we run on our trucks and two diffrent types!

We have a large diameter known as a "64" and a small diameter known as a "38" and the the diffrent types are the white canvas hose and the red dura line.

WHATS GOING ON HERE!!!

Today members from Terang did their 6 monthly BA (Breathing Apparatus) skills maintenance.

It was a good opportunity to also get some hose testing done and to run through some quick drills.

Our next Training day will be the start of our pre summer preparation!

REMINDER...The AusAlert National Emergency Warning System will be tested tomorrow July 27 at 2pm. An audible alert will be sent to your mobile device and a text message will display on the screen. You don't need to respond. More info can be found at

On Monday 27 July 2026, a test Critical Alert will be sent to all compatible mobile devices in Australia.The alert will override 'silent' and 'do not disturb' device settings. It will appear like a system notification on screens and make a loud siren sound for 10 seconds.

Behind every fire hydrant is the potential to save a home, a business, or even a life. Hydrant Heroes is all about helping keep our fire hydrants visible, accessible and ready when seconds count.
By keeping vegetation trimmed, avoiding parking over hydrants and reporting damaged or missing markers, our community can play a vital role in supporting firefighters. A fire hydrant that's easy to find and access can make all the difference during an emergency.
You don't need a fire truck to be a hero—just a willingness to keep an eye on the hydrants in your neighbourhood. Together, we can help ensure firefighters have quick access to the water they need when our community needs them most.

The Terang Fire Brigade is looking for new members to join our team and help protect and support our local community.

Being a volunteer firefighter is about more than responding to emergencies—it's about learning new skills, making lifelong friendships, and being there for your neighbours when they need you most.

No experience is necessary. We provide all the training and support you need, and there are many ways to get involved.
