Just a friendly check-in from your local SES crew!
We’ve still got severe wind warnings in place today, and there’s also a fair bit of water sitting on the roads concealing & creating some pretty nasty potholes (that us Victorians have gotten quite used to by now!) So please take extra care if you’re out and about.
What to expect:
- Strong winds throughout the day. Some gusts might give the trees a real shake.
- Water pooling on roads from recent rain, making potholes harder to spot and vehicles harder to control.
- Fallen branches, trees and possible power outages.
Here’s how you can get storm-ready:
✅ Bring in or tie down anything that could go flying — bins, outdoor furniture, trampolines, garden gnomes.
✅ Park cars away from trees if possible.
✅ Charge your phone and grab a torch and radio, just in case the power goes out.
✅ If you’re driving, SLOW DOWN, watch for water across the road, potholes, and never drive through floodwater.
✅ Keep an eye out for fallen trees or power lines, stay well clear and report them.
