Last Friday the Teddy Bears had their picnic! The Bee Keepers had a fabulous bear themed day. We loved writing about our teddies going on a picnic, making bear ears and tea cup biscuits, reading bear books, participating in bear inspired music and finally finishing off the day with a picnic outside!

Mrs Kuiters joined the Bee Keepers on Monday afternoon for science this week. They completed a boat design challenge using paper, pipe cleaners, foil, straws and blu tac. Students needed to create a boat that not only floated but could be moved by wind. There were some very creative designs. Congratulations to Charlotte and Willow who tied first place in the final boat race.

The Pollinators had a great day on the NAIDOC excursion. They created a representation of the excursion and shared what they had learned. They were really fascinated by the size and colour of the eggs.

On Friday Bridie, Madeline, Lilah, Molly, Harley, Dom and Mitchell competed at the North West regionals athletics carnival. 11 zones from the region all gathered at Tamworth to compete for a place to attend the NSW state carnival in Sydney.
PBs were achieved all day even in nearly 30 degrees. We are extremely proud of each of our students that made it through to this level and experienced what is truly a next level competition.
A shout out to Dom V, who made it through to the finals in the 100m and placed 3rd, which means a spot in Sydney next month. Congratulations Dom and to everyone for doing their best.

Last treat for the week!
Our SASS staff jumped on the school bus this morning for a morning tea downtown. We had to twist a few arms to get them off school grounds. 😝
