🔥ATTENTION GREENWITH RESIDENTS🔥

Tea Tree Gully CFS will be conducting a live grass fire drill at the Para Valley Council Reserve (Para Valley Drive, Greenwith) tonight from about 7:30 pm (weather/conditions permitting).

Two strips of grassland about 1 hectare each are planned to be lit under controlled circumstances, to allow our crews to practice responding to grass fires. 🚒🚨👩‍🚒

Don’t be alarmed if you see a fire and trucks responding tonight in this area, but please keep clear of the reserve.

The wind forecast is south-westerly and is expected to take the smoke drift away from populated areas.

A permit has been issued by the TTG Council.

Refer to the attached photo for the proposed burn location.

Tea Tree Gully CFS are recruiting! We are looking for motivated members of our community to join us as volunteer firefighters! 🚒 (All training provided)

We are more than a bushfire service, and respond to all hazards to protect our community 24/7, including:
- Structure fires 🏠 🔥
- Vehicle accidents and road crash rescue 🚗
- Rural fires 🌲 🏔️
- Vehicle fires
- Storm events and tree downs ⛈️
- And much more!

We train every Monday night between 7:15 pm and 9:30 pm at our station on Haines Road, Tea Tree Gully (opposite House on Haines).

Are you:
✅ Community minded?
✅ A team player?
✅ Willing to learn new skills and help others in emergencies?

Do you:
☑️ Live within a reasonable response time to our station (ideally less than 8 minutes)?
☑️ Have time to commit to regular training and call-outs?

If so, we’d love to hear from you!
Please register your interest by emailing: [email protected] by no later than 5 pm on Sunday, 7th September 2025 to be considered for this round of recruiting.

The Tea Tree Gully CFS held an event to celebrate three key milestones on Sunday 22 June 2025, these being:
1) 90 years since the establishment of a Fire Fighting Association and appointment of the first fire control officers in the TTG District (11th December 1935).
2) 80 years since the first registered firefighters and an organised fire service in the Tea Tree Gully District (1st February 1945).
3) 70 years since the opening of the Tea Tree Gully Brigade station on Haines Road (24th June 1955).
Thank you to the City of Tea Tree Gully Council (Marijka Ryan - Tea Tree Gully Mayor) for their unwavering support over the last 90 years.
Thanks also to the businesses who have supported the brigade over many decades.
The celebration saw some 150 people including current CFS members, life members and past members of the brigade, enjoy several guest speakers including Emily Bourke Minister for Emergency Services; Brett Loughlin AFSM Chief Officer CFS and Jason Druwitt Regional CFS Regional Commander all whom spoke of the outstanding service the brigade has dedicated to protecting the community for 90 years.
Many thanks also to the partners of the volunteers who have understood and supported the work the volunteers do for the community, sometimes in the most inconvenient of times.

Most of all, thank you to the volunteers, past and present for their commitment in serving the local community and many intrastate and interstate deployments.

Below is a photo of current members and cadets from TTGCFS and CFS senior officers who attended the special celebration.
