Last year, nearly half the homes damaged or destroyed by fire in NSW did not have a working smoke alarm! Be smart and take part in Smoke Alarm Action Day, and test your smoke alarm works! A working smoke alarm is your best early warning sign of a fire, giving you and your loved ones the chance to get out, stay out, and call Triple Zero (000).

Check Your BLEEPING Smoke Alarms!

50% of all house fires we attend have no working smoke alarms! In winter, the number of house fires increases by roughly 15%, often caused by overloading power circuits and unmonitored/outdated heating equipment.

This is why we're doing a big push to all of our community members to Test Your BLEEPING Smoke Alarms!

Alarms need to be tested at least ONCE A MONTH, and be cleaned EVERY 6 MONTHS.
They should also be replaced EVERY 10 YEARS.

If you are unsure how to check, clean or replace your alarms, you can book a FREE Home Fire Safety visit with us. We will check and replace (if needed) any smoke alarms entirely free of charge.

A safety visit can assist in helping you reduce the risk of an accidental fire in the home and safely escape it.
